259 - Work Work.
Alright, another week - another Monday.
Work. This past week I spent on the night patrols mini-game. As I mentioned before, one of the ways for the player to make money will be to take on a part time job as a city guard volunteer. It's gonna work like this: you will be able to spend the night on patrolling the city. By the end of your patrol you will be getting paid. There will be a bonus for choosing to patrol the streets on rainy nights. Also you will be able to progress in the ranks from Novice Militiaman to Regular Militiaman and finally to Veteran militiaman. Every new rank will rise your salary and unlock extra abilities (such as being able to use a whistle to summon reinforcements). Every patrol will have a 50/50 chance of lunching a small event, like chasing a thief for example. The event will unfold depending on your choices and sometimes depending on your strength level. Arresting a criminal will result in a monetary reward. There will be 20 events (for now at least) like that. The events will be initiated at random.
Anyway, that is what I am working on right now. I finished writing all the events and imported 3 of them into the game (17 more left). Writing was the most energy-consuming part, now is mostly routine work is left. I hope to be done by Wednesday and move on to working on festivals that you will be able to invite the girls to.
That is all. No exciting news or pictures. Work work....

I like these updates too - no flash, no huge breakthroughs - just work. No trying to frame the process like something it is not. Ah - reality feels refreshening :D

I wonder if the night patrol event might include some scenes. Like if you catch a female thief maybe she can make a deal to avoid being being arrested...
That was almost literally one of the first scenes I have written for this. Damn, am I THAT predictable? XD
I always wanted to be a cop in Agrabah. Can we strip-search suspiciously-looking hoes? Do we get to be bribed to look the other way? I could easily be distracted.. just saying ^^
About half of the events will include "educational" content, but it won't go to deep, just a few lines of text. This activity will be repeat often, to much reading could hurt the flow.
