457 - Weekly News.

HELLO and welcome to another weekly news recap! Time to talk about random things that caught my attention over the past week and end it with a couple of work-related sentences amounting to basically "I continue to work, coming soon." But I don't know why I'm telling you this. I doubt there are any new people here at this point, and an old guard such as yourself is well aware of how we do things here. Well, let's begin! :)

SHOP. First things first. This week's new shop item is the legendary Iris CG, which I know left an impression on many of the old men reading this. Back then, their brains were still young and impressionable, and there were almost no decent adult Western games around at the time. Well, and because Iris is love. ^^

TMNT: INTERGALACTIC! Somebody sent me this cool trailer for a cool new TMNT movie that doesn't actually exist (i.e. more AI slop). I must say, it looks amazing. And the main reason for that is that AI allows fans to create this stuff without having to deal with the corpos. All in all, it's a fantastic trailer with lots of Easter eggs for the real OGs. The only problem I personally have with it is the way they depicted Ninjara. They gave her that new Star Fox look: a photorealistic fox head glued onto a human body. PALATE CLEANSING TIME! A few days ago, while working, I wasn't paying attention to my Foobar2000, and after the current playlist ended, it automatically continued playing the rest of the files in the folder. And there were some REALLY old MP3s in there. I only realized what was happening when the freaking Double Rainbow Song started playing. Man, hearing that song after so many years sure made me feel some feels. OH NO! I'M A FURRY NOW! Yeah, I married Velvet. In the bastardised version, she's called Panne for some reason, but since I'm a hardcore purist and play in Japanese, I know her by her real name: Velvet. And she has a tail. And I think she's not even wearing pants and that's just her fur. Anyway, in Awakening, apparently you can just trigger S-rank marriage events in the middle of the game. In Three Houses, you can only propose before the final battle, which made perfect sense, but here you can do it as soon as the S-rank conversation becomes available. I don't care about the tails and furry butts, I swear! I just liked her hair. On her head, only. Guys, you have to believe me.

BINANCE! OH NO! ANYWAY... So yeah, apparently Binance got hacked. I only care because I have an account there. Many of my Russian friends created accounts there at some point because, for a long while, Binance didn't bother enforcing the sanctions. Anyway, I never actually put any money into it, so I don't really care. But the news popped up quite a few times in my feed, and apparently some absolutely ludicrous amounts of money were stolen. And after that, there was something about a stock market crash or something. Since I don't understand any of it, I can't really comment in any meaningful way. I can just acknowledge the news and get back to drawing tits and romancing weird rabbit women in furry pants.

MORE AI SLOP! MrLazara has flooded my inbox again this week with his AI creations. This time it were dozens of playing cards based on my art. What struck me the most about them was how good some of the illustrations on those cards looked. There were even little details, like Kimmy holding a picture of her hero, April, and so on. Anyway, I cherry-picked the ones I liked the most and am sharing them with you. (The RAR file is attached to this post.)

SPIDERS SHUT DOWN. Spiders was a French game development studio. Back in the day, they created a fantastic game called Mars: War Logs. It's an obviously low-budget RPG with multiple endings and three romance options. After that, they created a game called The Technomancer. That game was great too, but when it came to romance options, there were two women and one guy, and the slight uglification of female characters had already begun. After that came GreedFall, which was even more progressive. And then GreedFall 2, which was modernity on steroids. And this year the studio has been shut down. For me personally, Mars: War Logs was their best game: beautiful women, a mature story, zero diversity. One of those obscure games that will always have a special place in my heart.

THE WORK. While backing up my Reporter Trainer bild yesterday I noticed that it reached 100 MB in size. I like watching game folders slowly grow in size while I keep on working. Usually the grows is stremly slow since the code doesn't weigh all that much. But as soon as I start working on the art assests the things progress much faster in that reagrd. Anyway, that's just a silly quirky indy dev thing that I do: looks at the size of the build and say to myaelf: the baby is growing. LOL :)

WORK (2). And that's about it. I continue to work on Irma's bonding events. The CG folder is slowly growing, but I still have a long way to go. If all goes well, during this week I plan to start working on some new art assets, so next Monday I'll probably have some drawing WIPs to show off again. And that's about it!
