456 - October Is Almost Over.
HALLOWEEN is coming. My costume for this year will be a long-dead mummy with a sign on its chest saying "BIOWARE". What? Too soon? No, wait, that's not inclusive enough. It should say "AAA video game industry".
SHOP. First things first. Let me present to you this week's addition to the shop/gallery: Iris's brother CG. The pack includes the low-resolution PNG SGs ripped straight from the game and the PSD file. ^^
AI SLOP. MrLazare did his thing again and sent me a whole bunch of cool AI creations based on my work. This time, it's cool video game covers from games that I'm sure exist in a parallel universe somewhere. There are quite a few of them. If you're curious to check them out, the pack can be found in the attachment to this post.
THE INDIFFERENCE. A few days ago, a friend sent me a link to sign the "Save MASS Effect" petition. I did as he asked because I knew it would make him happy. The thing is, the news about BioWare getting shut down didn't evoke any emotions in me at all. Neither positive nor negative ones. While I was playing Dragon Age: Inquisition, I went through both denial and bargaining. With ANDROMEDA came acceptance, and after that, it was just indifference. The real BioWare died in 2012, when the last founding fathers left it.
THERE IS STILL HOPE? Some people say that The Expanse: Osiris Reborn will save us, but I've been hurt way too many times before, so I remain pessimistic. I will believe it when I see it. After all, it's being made by the same guys who created Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and the writing in that game was laughably bad. The character models look reassuring in the trailers, but the game itself may never be released, or the models could get nerfed before release. Anyway, like I said: I'll believe it when I see it. -_-
THE WORK. Work is work, zug-zug. I feel like I have been saying the same thing every week lately: I am working on Irma's bonding events. But it is what it is, just toiling away towards a brighter future. One of the scenes was missing some liquids, so I had to unsheathe my drawing tablet for a few hours, and after that, it was back to coding and writing. The plan for this week is more of the same, I'm afraid. Nothing too exciting for now. Thank you for your patience and support. Laterz.

Bioware is dead, woo. It's like making crap games means you as a studio don't get to keep making MORE crap games...
Yeah. That's at least one positive emotion I feel when I hear a news of a game studio that released a games that actively hates on it's core audience gets shut down.
EA has such a history of destruction. In a way, I am glad Bioware is dead. It's just been a corpse dragged along for its name for so long now. ME1-3 were amazing, as was KotOR. But look at what EA did to Westwood and the Command & Conquer series...
Yup. My thoughts exactly. Both on EA and Bioware. As far as I remember EA also fucked up the development of KOTOR2 with many things getting cut to make it to the release date. And the same is true for MA:3. Rushed development they called it back in the day -_-
I’m starting to notice a slightly worrying pattern here: every Monday, Irma seems to have a little more “unspecified liquid” on her than the week before… 👀 At this point I’m genuinely afraid to find out what next Monday’s WIP is going to look like! Also, really happy to see some of my AI fake game covers making their way into the Monday Post! ^_^ Thanks for the update 🙏
Thank you for your support, encouragements and the endless stream of cool AI creations! o7
Iris's 'brother'? For a minute there I thought I missed something
"Brother CG" ugh.... Ha-ha-ha. Sorry. XD
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3230960/EXODUS/ also looks promising mass effect successor.
Yeah, I have only learned about this one recently. I must say I really hate the bland art direction this one has. Nothing on those screenshots stands out to me. On the other hand when I look at the Expanse screenshots everything pops out: the locations the character designs, the lightings. That's just my personal opinion of course. We have 2 MassEffect inspired games on the horison. That's a win for the players anyways.
Bioware has been a toxic dump for years. The AI slop is amusing in this usage and some days the work just feels like the old add for fast food. Same thing, same thing. Those that don't remember that, your to dam young. P.S. is it bad I have a folder labeled Akabur on my computer that's just stuff you post.
It's abnormal to have an Akabur folder???
U cute

Dude, how many beloved game studios have fallen into darkness before BioWare? Psygnosis (Lemmings) Rareware (Donkey Kong Country) Sierra (Leisure Suit Larry) I even sent Rare some pictures when I was a kid. I think I still have the letter they sent me somewhere... It's only natural that you feel nothing about this. It's always been this way...
Yeah... At this point it just feels like the entire industry has collapsed. There simply is no place in this new world for old games and old companies. :(
Domme: "Get a move on! It shouldn't take you more than an hour to finish cleaning the blackboard."
Always the best GIFs for my bros. o7
>Mass Effect There's another upcoming game named Exodus has Drew Karpyshyn (basically the father of Mass Effect) as the main writer on their team, and some other devs from the good old Bioware. I know it's bloody painful to have any hope these days, but this seems at least tiny bit promising to me...
You made me look it up because I had no idea. The character design looks a bit bland for my liking but if the team behind it is what you say it could turn out a fantastic game. :)
Well, that one was earlier than expected, I almost missed it, either way another W post from the GOAT.

The Pyramids didn't build themselves - work, work, work. Still pretty and worth it in the end 💪
Well said. :)
So early! BioWare is what we talked about a lot in the past; it hurt because it was great, but it isn't our BioWare anymore, and people act as if the Mass Effect 3 ending wasn't a disaster. I don't wait anymore, Baldur's Gate 3 and ClairObscure got me by surprise, so I no longer have expectations, just enjoy what I enjoy, like Akabur games
Yeah. Good morning XD I am glad we see this whole pretty much the same way, man. Yeah, some good games might still come.
You're going to add something for the feet weirdos right?👀🦄
I tend to work with ideas and themes that I'm personally into or at least have some understanding of. There could be some occasional feet stuff, but only by pure coincidence, because if I begin doing it on purpose, it'll be like a grandpa trying to perform a rap song to look cool in front of the kids but ending up just looking cringey. -_-
