448 - Suikoden V post, basically.

HELLO and welcome to another Monday Post. Today is post number 448. I don't know how many of you realize this, but there are around 52 Mondays in a year. Which means I posted the first Monday Post almost 9 years ago. I am kind of proud of myself for keeping this thing going without missing a single one. (To be honest, I think there was one time when I was late by 2 days or something, but that's about it.) But at the same time, was it really 8-something years ago already? Better not to think too hard about this. -_-

SHOP. Rejoice, Witch Trainer fans! This week's shop item is dedicated to your beloved game once again. This time, it's a high-resolution poster. Actually, there are two different versions of the poster. I think only one of them was ever released officially (I could be mistaken), so go check them both out. :)

MODERN GAMES. I sold my PS4 6 years ago, and the only thing I regret is buying it in the first place. The PS3 was the last good console for me. But I do keep to lazily monitor the modern game industry, mostly so I can point and laugh. The problem is, over the years I've realized that my opinions on this don't always resonate with everyone, so I decided to try to keep them to myself. I just want to say that I did hear about the new Wolverine game, the new Tomb Raider game, and the new GTA game. And that's all I'm going to say. If you know me, you already know how I feel about these three. ^^

A NEW ERA. A few days ago, something unusual happened: I watched some AI slop, and a couple of minutes in, I forgot I was watching AI slop. There’s this short movie on YouTube that basically consists of 3 short stories. The second story is basically a Star Wars/Mass Effect-themed fever dream, but I had so much fun watching it! XD It had this juvenile energy you would never see in the corporate-approved stuff you see in theaters these days: there were busty alien girls, dick jokes, all kinds of stuff that was just fun. Anyway, check it out if you have a chance. Trust me, you won't regret it. Just skip the last story (the fantasy one)—it's kind of lame.

WELCOME TO MY SECT! Several weeks ago, I persuaded a buddy of mine (Danlorn) to get an RG35XXSP. Well, not really persuaded, but more like nudged him in the right direction. He just asked me what console he should buy to play GBA games, and I was happy to recommend one, of course. And now he sent me a picture showing that it was delivered to him. Mine is transparent black, and I love it, but I also kind of like how his version looks. Also, look at how he used to play GBA games before! Absolutely disgusting!

SUIKODEN V (Translation). I am about 30 hours into Suikoden V. To say that I love it to the point of obsession would be to... call it exactly as it is. I am having such a blast with this game. Like I said, I came for the castle management, but received so much more! The one thing that sometimes pulls me out of the experience is the translation though. I mean, it's pretty faithful, and all the edgy jokes (that would get you canceled these days) are there, but sometimes, when they try to "add flavor" to the way some characters speak, it can be a bit jarring.

SUIKODEN V. (Choices). The game is full of choices, and you never know which ones will affect the story and which ones are there just for fun. I knew very little about the game going in, so for the first 10 hours or so, I made dialogue choices that seemed like fun. That is, until I was offered the chance to backstab my allies and become the king. And it actually happened. Well, I got executed off screen for treason, got a little sneak peek of what happened afterward, and then... a GAME OVER screen. That was so unexpected that I think my jaw literally dropped a little. After that, I was more careful with my decisions. XD

SUIKODEN V. (Harem building). One more thing that caught me off guard was a harm building feeling that the game gives you. Everytime I see a cute girl I'm like "how would you like to move in into my castle". There are 108 recruitable characters in the game, so quite of those girls actually do end up living with you. XD

SUIKODEN V. (Favorite characters). The game is full of cool male characters and female waifu material. In this post, I want to mention three of them. First, Kisara, who actually comes with a husband and a daughter (and all three of them even have a co-op move called "Family"). Normally, I am not into milfs, but there is something about having Kisara on my team that always brings a smile to my face. It could be her whining animation, which really complements her ridiculous proportions. :) Lady Sialeeds is next. Yes, she is my aunt, but who cares when the design is so hot? And to balance things out, the third character is actually a bro. When we finally moved into our own castle, the first thing he said was: "This place is great. With walls this thick, I won't have to worry about disturbing any neighbors at night!" Because he plans to bang a lot of chicks during the night. Get it? He-he, it's silly, I know, but stuff like this brings a smile to my old face, and that is all that matters. :)

AND THAT'S IT. I'm not going to bother talking about the work stuff this time because it's basically the same as last week and the week before. I am doing the writing and coding without using any graphical assets for now, and because of that, I have nothing to show you. So that's that. Thank you for your support and your trust in me.
