Gold Edition?
Alright this is a patrons-only post because at the end of the day your opinion is the only one that really matters since you finance my projects directly.
I created this poll because I want to now your opinion. This does not mean that I will change my plans depending on the poll results. At the end of the day I personally should be interested in the project. That being said I am still curious to see what opinion you guys have on this.
THE QUESTION. What would you personally want me to work on next?
1. Queen Trainer GOLD EDITION?
2. STAR CHANNEL Season 02.
3. Some other project? (Reporter Trainer, or Ashelin Trainer or some such.)
P.S. There is no setting to make the results private (so that only I could see the results), which is a shame. Try not to let other's choices affect your own choice too much. This is not about which position will get the most votes, I just want to get a feel of the general consensus on this issue.

bit left field for you but i would not mind seeing an avatar trainer with the OG girls. if anyone can train them to help the avatar/save world and combine elements be you. be a nice way to see azula broken and tie in the other babes. i know MITY did a game like this a while back but love to see your take on theme.

Ashelin trainer sounds great, but I would personally would not be interested in April anything. I voted for the star channel season 2 option.

Lara or April trainer would be awesome!! But SC02 would also be nice, I like personally your use of CG in the last episodes of SC, more than when you use chibis (I think its called) thats why i prefer any of those 2 instead of QT GE.
Noted. The good thing about Star Channel was that thanks to it's linear nature I had more time to work on the art.
I think a Queen Trainer Gold edition might be too early yet. Maybe leave the project on a backburner once you're satisfied with the state of the game in regards to bug fixes, then keep a notebook with things you would want to add / fix if you got unlimited time. I am, however extremely curious to see if you would come up with something new, or another story you would feel like adapting. Personally I always wanted to see something around lola / lula. I feel like your strongest suit have always been when you get to focus around the corruption / trainer part. The real kicker for me personally in your two best games imo, witch trainer and princess trainer is the combination of corruption aspect with the melancholy of the plotline that eventually has to end.
That "melancholy of the plot line" brought me a lot of hateful comments back in the day. Kind of rare to hear that somebody actually enjoyed that aspect of those games. XD Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on this. There are many things I need to consider when starting a new project, so I can't just do whatever the hell I want. If I could I would probably create something completely original. Maybe one day :)

I think SC S02 would be fun, but probably a biiig task after QT. So, maybe something smaller... with Ashelin and/or Lara. (someone mentioned a turtles + He-Man crossover, that's an interesting idea imo, even as a little fun something :D ) QT Gold sounds nice but also smells like burnout by monotony. Aaand speaking of SC...we could have a Starcraft "infestation" there. [:

Did you consider making someing not based on existing IP? So you could go on Steam? Or at least based on public domain, like Alice In Wonderland
I did in fact. The problem is that would be have to be a very successful project, it's risky.

I want whatever gives me Ashelin saluting in a topless military uniform.... or a reporter doing a broadcast naked to increase her ratings. So.... either of the second two choices would be culturally enriching.

An Ashelin or Lara trainer would be awesome and I'd completely be on board with either (April already got Mating Season), but Star Channel coming back I think is the right choice. It gives all of the characters some content, gives Akabur some freedom expand on the great premise already there in SC, and it gives the fans some steady episode releases to enjoy which would be a welcomed change for a while after the 3 year development of QT.

much as i prefer jasmine stuff and want more SC i do feel we owe it to hermione to do a full plot with her/rest of school.
There are multiple reasons why it can't be done. I need to play it safe if I want to be able to continue to do what I do.
I'm just a big fan of Lara and Ashley. A trainer for one of those would be great, but I feel like with SC you have a great framework already and could bring more content easily. It also allows to easily bring in more girls, like Hornelia for example :P
Agreed. The only problem with SC that I personally have is that it never felt like my work is really done. With QT it took 3 years, but at least for a couple of days after the release it felt like I am finally done with it, with SC it's like never ending conveyer belt. That being said there are many good things about the whole SC setup that I like, including these with which I can add all sorts of content and character is too it. Also you could play dress up with the character dolls :)
SC is most interesting, as it has some fascinating central plot and many cool girls, with the spotlight constantly shifting between them.
Cool. First few years of development I have received quite a few negative comments over SC. But it looks like the nature has finally headed and maybe the world is really for the season 02 :)
SC season 2. I remember you mentioned in an old post you tried to make it kind of a framework that you could more or less easily add more content. It could be interesting to allow the community to add short stories.
Yes, that was the general idea. Also community did add some of the stories in the form of the simulation room events.

Honestly good with whatever you decide but Reporter trainer sounds promising (April O'Neil and the fake news :) Stil Keep Queen Trainer gold edition on the cards (I'm sure you are sick of it for a while anyway and plenty of time people can give feedback that might give you ideas there)
Yeah, I am a bit tired of QT by now, but I think eventually I will start to eel nastalgic and will be happy to return to it. I often feel like that about my old projects. I remember feeling extremely exhausted after I was done with SC34, but now I kind of miss working on it. Nastalgia is one hell of a drug.

Well, I wish you can do something new, brand new, not constrained by any of your former works. For example a fighting system, or a rogue-like structure. No offence, but for me, replaying a progression game goes a little boring... I know you are talented and can revive vintage stories to life, but trying new things is always exciting and promising. I hear you. And to tell you the truth I myself do sometime dream about creating something completely fresh. Only it would still be very VN-like project. I am not very interested in creating fighting system. I like to tell stories :)
I liked Witch Trainer very, very much and i will be overjoyed with another trainer game.Reporter Trainer or Lara Trainer or Witch Trainer 2 are my favoritie options.

BTW, just some thoughts - probably, some part of patrons (including old ones) unsubscribed after QT release if they were not happy with it. Probably, their votes would shift poll towards option 3 or 2. I mean, yeah, they unsubscribed, so one may call them "traitors" or whatsoever, and ignore their opinion, but they still may be Aka fans, just unhappy with latest game, and will potentially return. Obviously, I don't know how significant their share was, so I just speculating that poll results will be slightly shifted without them.
What makes you think that? To be fair I didn't pay too much of a close attention but since QT has been released I have gained like 1000+ new Patrons.

I love Jasmine, so I'm biased. But I think Queen Trainer is your best work by far. I'd love to see more of it
I am pretty sure I will be getting back to it, since there are so many things I could add. But I think I need a little break first. Good to know that Gold Edition is in demand though.
Personally I think Queen Trainer gold edition might be too soon to at the moment, and I’m torn between the other 2…Season 2 of Star Channel looks very attractive (😅 though I am a little worried that the project will drain you physically just like last time you worked on it) But an April Oniel, Lara Croft, or an Ashelin Trainer has a promising Temptation I personally wouldn’t be able to resist (🤤 I always thought April Oniel was hot)
Yeah, I was quite exhausted by the end of season 1. Which is odd, considering that it's structure allowed me to add new content relatively easy. The problem was that it never felt finished. That being said starting season 02 is much easier than planning a whole new trainer game right after I just finished one. Decisions, decisions... Oh well, that is exactly why I decided to post this poll. Thank you for the input.
The granular corruption in Witch Trainer will always be my favorite, at least it felt very nuanced to me. A simpler setting with more emphasis on changing reactions and faces to repeated tasks. And witnessing your progress through the outfits from tame to ridiculously slutty was so much fun. I would have liked to play dress up doll for hours… well maybe I did.
Thanks. Only the times have changed. Even back in the day I have received a lot of hate initially, and that was then. Now, if I release a game with only one chibi background and two character dolls, normies will eat me alive.
If you need to take a break from QT I totally understand. I'd like to be able to level up on Atamansha and a status screen would be nice, but I'm voting Star Channel since I've been waiting even longer for Hermione to get a webcam show.
And if you do Star Channel, it might be a fun art challenge to enable the girls to wear each others' costumes.

Jessica-Fucking-Rabbit and Holli-Fucking-Would. Your portraial as Rose in Princess Trainer was very... educative. Creating some sort of old-school retro vibes would be interesting, considering the other characters from the universe in your style. Can be some sort of old New York style gangster adventure or such, Old Man going in time for whatever, testing the "I am not bad, I am just drawn that way" theory and such, would be instersting in my opinion when you would put your hands on it.

By now I am well aware that somehow Ashelin has managed to gather quite a following. I better give people what the want I guess. Good think I am all up for it myself XD I love the Jak universe and it would be interesting to explore it more.
It is a really tough call - so many nice characters and games to chose from. Star Channel S02 makes sense, it would bring everybody something and the episodes were still well done. I wouldn't mind seeing where the Ashelyn + Lara and Captain story goes! In addition, I remember it as you being able to release every 2-3 months, think an approach like that would be good after QT.

I'm going with Queen Trainer Gold only because it seems like the least amount of work for AKABUR to accomplish right now. I figure, the art that would accompany an expanded relationship with Atamansha and maybe some chibi art with the new brothel employees and the employees of the various businesses around Agrabah.
I appreciate you are worrying about me. Indeed adding stuff to QT would be much easier than creating something from scratch.

I am very torn between QT: Gold and a project involving Hermione. While I loved QT, WT is peak of peaks so WT:2 would be a dream come true. I could settle for SC season 2 however, the first one was great and I was really invested in the story

I will be honest with you, that's not very likely. I have very little knowledge (or interest) in modern western animation. Everything after year 2000 is a no-go zone for me.
I think two specific games would be best. 1) An April Trainer where you help her increase her viewership ratings. 2) An Ashelin trainer where you help her develop an incentive program for her troops. In either case.... it would also be wonderful to see the broadcasts or troop rewards in action... at least for the major ones. Put a TV in the room to click on? Of course a Star Channel sequel could put both of these questlines in.

Queen Trainer Gold for sure! All that it needs is more art. Everything else in the game is excellent, but without visuals for so much of the game just makes it way too difficult to complete the “educational” objective of the games. I thought that your favorite part of the whole process was the art, but it really feels like you made yourself suffer so much with the amount of coding and writing and a nice “break” for the next half year or more just working on art assets. That’s also a smaller thing than any of the others, so it would be better to get that out of the way and be fully ready to move on.
This is definitely my vote. I enjoyed QT, but it absolutely does feel like an awesome framework with just barely enough meat. I feel like you could make it significantly better by just adding art to the existing framework.
I'd love a short Ashelin trainer but I'm probably in the minority there. I think a Queen Trainer Gold is something better to come back to after another project.

Star Channel IMO have a lot unused potential. First iterations with Ashley and her daddy was something else! More interactions with ship itself would make deeper immersion. Also unlocking new dances next to outfits. Outfits in dance area. Sneak peak to rooms on ship. Man options are endless. Also thought about dialogues like in Hades, everytime you would sneak peak there would be new dialogue. I know. Lot of work ;)

Ночной Пёс 2, please 🌚 But seriously, I think switching back from "gamey game" QT to more straightforward story-focused VN - Star Channel 34 Season 2 - would be nice. Probably you had enough programming and complicated planning for the last 3 years, so maybe personally you would also want to have something with more streamlined development. And I just want to see what happens in ST34! That was the greatest cliffhanger in the history of video games! ST34 Season 2 doesn't have to be a linear VN, but something smaller in scope, something more focused than QT, closer to WT - which was a "game" with mechanics, stats, but focused and limited in scope - and I think that's what makes it many people's favorite.
You mentioning The Night Dog really took me aback. I didn't even realize it was released publicly at some point. This was just a little DEMO game a wrote to illustrate what you can do with Ren'Py. You mentioning it made me nostalgic. I asked Smersh to send me a copy and had a short playthrough: bought the teaser, saved the girl, ordered sushi, had sex and moved on with my life. Good times. I need to get back to my roots and keep things simple like that. (But with some CGs :) Yes, I want to get back to more straightforward VN-like stuff since it will allow me to be more productive. I still hope to keep a certain level of interactivity in a form of multiple endings.
SC34 season 2 definitely. The periodic release schedule, the multiple storylines, the variety of characters, the freedom to jump into any universe...I could go on. Season 1 has so much going for it
Yes. Star Channel wasn't perfect but it had a lot of good ideas in the way the entire set up was presented. It also taught me a lot. With season 2 I plan to put that new knowledge to use :)
Situationally, Star Channel was such a good setup. Having the ladies be suddenly interviewed and broadcast lends itself to such good content. I'm not saying that you should do another Star Channel.... but anything that has that type of public-facing element is beautiful.... Should it even be a "trainer" game. April O'Neil being a reporter lends itself to this. So could Ashelin if it contains a regular "Address the troops" segment.

If you are going for a trainer, Let Lara be first choice. We have grown much hate because of the recent Tomb raider games. We must release that hatred in one way or another. We can train her all over the world. Otherwise Star Channel Season 2. Seriously you just put the Lara Trainer in my mind. Can't stop thinking about that. So much potential
Yeah, I am VERY interesting in creating something like that with Lara. So many possibilities :)
Tbh I'd like to see something smaller in scope again (like witch trainer) that can be higher in quality for the main path and maybe also mean you can focus on a shorter project and stress less. WT remains my favorite game of yours and I think it's in no small part that you have both the chibi gal and the detailed fullbody illustration on the screen during the scenes with the girl. Lots of scenes in these latest games are hot af and fun in the idea/concept/writing of the scenes but the visual reward aspect is kind of missing or lacking. Like, for example, it's awesome that there's all these exploration things you can do in Agrabah and the clubs and people you can encounter, but many if not most of them don't even have a simplified chibi version of the naughtiness going on, meaning you don't get the visual reward that could otherwise keep the interest going. We've got a bunch of poses for the girls and beautiful quest-end illustrations, but the quest progression that will lead there offers less in terms of visual reward and variety, meaning things can end up feeling grindy and repetitive quicker, despite you putting a lot of effort and work into the game.
I'm referring to Queen Trainer for the examples in the comment above. Also, I think that what really made WT fun and interesting for me was that it was a corruption story where most of the hotness (for me at least) came from seeing the girl's face and attitude to her retelling of her missions change over time, from serious, strict and dismissive, to eventually blushing and smiling slyly with a horny alutty attitude. Subtle stuff like a blushing smile could be enough to make it hot that she was telling about giving a hand job during class or whatever. I really don't mean to disparage your hard work and fantastic craftsmanship. I just don't want you to spread yourself too thin, if that makes sense.
What the hell, all of those are brilliant. Choosing one of them is impossible. I would love to see Ashelin trainer tho.
Ashelin is a lucky girl. I never would have guessed that she would get so popular. Don't you worry though, I plan to give plenty of screen time in the future. Promise.
SC34 needs its conclusion / season 02. Oh what I'd give for that. BUT some kind of action trainer that pits Lara and Ashelin against each other would be epic in such a twisted way.

Sorry, I am not very familiar with the franchise, so I won't be able to do the characters justice. That being said, didn't somebody already create a game like that involving Teen Titans? Or am I confusing this with Something Unlimited?
Hermione and April trainer. The gradual persuasion in witch trainer is excellent, just like the awkwardness of the april scenes in star channel. If that can be conbined with the lewdness of mating season then you have a perfect game.
That's quite a request. But I'll see what I can do. (By that I mean that you will see more of them in my future projects, not that I will actually start working on a trainer game featuring both April and Hermione at the same time as the main characters.

Ew. As Gaben says, "late is just for a little while. Suck is forever". Akabur's game are the window into the world without modern crappy video games. World where developers actually care about what they are doing, and were actually putting effort in it.

Personally, I'd like a status screen where I can see my strength level, culture level, and interaction scores with the various ladies.

Agreed. I love that universe and very familiar with the characters. To have an Ashelin trainer with the rest of the girls (Tess and Kiera), as optional love/training interests would be dope. ^^
SC34 season 02. I love ya man, but for whatever reason QT just didn't do it for me like your other games..... not enough art, maybe. I'd love to see more SC though, I was enjoying that game quite a bit.
