Hey guys,
I am back with something different this time. A digital "pencil" drawing. Using the first vacation I got this year, I got myself a drawing tablet and this is the first result after after 2 days of work. It has quite a bit beginner mistakes since I have not yet a feeling for the software I am using. The second picture is the reference. As you can see the colouring is a bit off due to my second monitors contrast settings.
While it takes quite a lot of time to create a picture, it feels more satisfying than a rendered image. Right know it feels abit like copying a photo with a pencil, but in the future I hope to expand my skills in digital drawing and test different art styles.
To your information: I am very much at the end of my (paid) PhD. The coming months will be different for me. Writing scientific papers, my dissertation and looking for a job. Therefor I can't make predictions whether this results in more pictures or not.
Anyway, let me know what you think about drawn pictures instead of rendered images. Every comment is appreciated.

Nice work, it looks like you must have spend a lot of time getting the individual strands of her hair to flow properly. I think you are really going to enjoy watching how your technique improves with experience over time.
