Off-shading fixes on both DMM and STEAM versions / BP and GS skin update support up to Asuza

Hello everyone,
I have updated the Costume Customizer skin patch up to Azusa. Everything's set up for one-click installs, so check out the video above on how to do it if you prefer that, or follow this written guide:

BP_GS Skin Patch Setup

Shading/Sheen Fixes

If your mods are having shading or sheen issues because of a game update, there are fixes available for both DMM and STEAM versions.
Quick heads-up:
These fixes work only if you download the mod after May 31, 2022. Otherwise, you'll need to re-download it.

1-Click Update for .buf Files

I've added a one-click update script that updates only the necessary .buf files, keeping everything clean. You’ll need Python installed on your computer. If you haven't got it yet, grab it from https://www.python.org/downloads/windows/ .

New Update Method

  • Download the appropriate file:

  • Extract the archive to find three files:

    • update_files

    • buf_update.py

    • Either run_steam.bat or run_dmm.bat (depending on your version)

Place these files into your Costume Customizer folder.

  • Double-click the right batch file (run_steam.bat or run_dmm.bat). A window will pop up showing what files are being updated. Once it’s done, you’re all set!

Old Update Method

  • Download:

  • Locate the mod folder with the issue in your Costume Customizer folder (usually named 1, 2, 3, etc.).

  • Extract the buf folder from the downloaded file and copy it into the mod folder, overwriting the existing files.

Note: These fixes only work with mods I made.

Extra Fixes

If the Costume Customizer isn’t working right, updating the d3dx.ini file might do the trick. You can get the updated file from here. Big thanks to the authors behind these fixes!

Hello. I installed this patch according to the instructions, but I encountered an error like the one shown in the image. I tried reverting to the previous files once, but the error persists. If you know what might be causing this, could you please let me know? https://tadaup.jp/1IJtMIly.png

Hello, I have a question about the Azusa BP patch. If it patched correctly then Azusa should work with BP presets? After running the patcher she still has missing textures over the naughty bits. I have the BP CC that was already patched up to Reika installed but I dunno if the lazypatcher actually did anything to those CC files or the XML in that folder. Dunno if it matters but I don't see anything with the AZS keyword in that BP folder or XML after the patch. Did I mess something up, or am I dumb and misunderstood what the patch is for? The files were put in the root CC folder with all the numbered folders and lazypatcher was run from there. I get a bunch of re-generating xml messages and a patch successful afterwards. I know this isn't the best place for tech support, but if Azusa BP is working for you then just let me know my setup is prob messed up and I can try a clean install

It's working fine on my end. I downloaded "BP_GS Skin patch up to Azusa.7z" and extracted the contents to the costume customizer installation. Run "LazyPatcher1.1.exe" . Let it run until it finishes and is done. Noted that this patch only works on my mods. Other mods not made by me will not be patched. Here's a new video tutorial on how I did it. https://fileditchfiles.me/file.php?f=/b70/UEvusNNWKTQBdAAzfFmY.mp4 If that still does not work. Try to run "CCModPackUpdater.exe" included in the .7z you downloaded. When you see there's an error popping up when you run that, there's a problem on your with your computer lacking dependencies. You need to download the VC++ runtimes. I find a GitHub repo that installs all necessary runtimes for ease of use. https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist here's the direct download link https://kutt.it/vcpp This might take a while cause it will install 2005 to 2026 runtimes. After it was done. Restart your computer. Download the patch and run it. I should work. If all of that's method isn't working.. We gonna do manual work. We're gonna fix each of the mods, and it's gonna be tedious. First of all, download this file https://fileditchfiles.me/file.php?f=/b70/zadqobuBJfnCUBmsQyLx.7z This includes all the necessary programs and files needed to do it. Here's a video tutorial I made last year on how I did it on Reika, but i would apply it to Azusa too, in a general way. https://fileditchfiles.me/file.php?f=/s21/kjchFfnugAWjaEjQkCc.mp4 Hope this works.

How can I fix a line on the neck area of BP skin? Thank you

M
Maasim · April 27, 2025

Are you using a custom skin on the face and body? Cause it usually causes the problem.

AtlasTerroriser · March 7, 2025

Let's say if Im using a custom skin for Reika, How do i toned match with your files?

M
Maasim · March 7, 2025

There's a lot yt tutorials online, This is the one I use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPUrg5B-GCU it's not perfect and you still need to retouch it by Changing the curves and color balance

Reika seems to have some skin tone differences going on with her when using CC with costumes. This is with the BP/GS skins. I also can't see if this is a problem with the other new girls since I don't have them unlocked.

M
Maasim · March 7, 2025

I think you're using a custom skin. The reika skin that I made was toned to match with Hi-metal skins. So it is only compatible with that skin. Use that skin if possible https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/4z9cv8ew237.png

I got an error when using "BP_GS Skin Patch". Looking at the error code, I think the cause is that this patch was created assuming 480 slot. But I'm using 120 slot in CC, so I can't apply it well. I think it is probably necessary to modify each ini file, but is it possible to do so?

M
Maasim · February 24, 2025

ok I didn't test it on the 120 slot, can you send me the screenshot what is the error and the mod menu for me to identify what mods are installed if that is possible? In the meantime can download this https://www.patreon.com/file?h=80265583&m=426669701 drag and drop it on Costume Customizer folder then see if that would fix the problem.

It seems like the fading has happened again with a recent update. Can I fix it?

M
Maasim · January 20, 2024

I will try to fix it within this weekend. Please wait until then.

What kind of problems should I use this patch for? For example, shadows are not displayed?

M
Maasim · March 23, 2023

If your mod looks like black and white or the mesh is washed up. In your example, you can fix that by updating the CC framework to the latest version.
