Dev Log: The Home Straight?

Sit down. Take a deep breath. In. Out. In. Out. Compose yourself.

Are you ready?

We're on the home straight. I can see the finish line.

As things stand there a FIVE scenes left to be written and rendered.

Yes, they'll still be tidy work to do afterwards. Still have to go back and add the odd animation.

Five scenes left until Chapter 3 is complete.

But ..

And it's BIG BUTT

Hold your horses. Two of these scenes are big.

One of them is addressing an issue that arose back in Chapter 1 and can play out in a number of different ways depending on your choices. In addition to that - there is a completely different path to navigate also if you choose not to deal with this issue.

So it's a big scene.

And the final scene .. Maybe when somebody comes to dinner?

Well. That is a fucking huge scene. Made of up of a lot of tiny mini-scenes.

Thinking ahead to it - I wouldn't be surprised to see that last scene be larger than the entirety of Chapter 1.

Now that doesn't mean it will take forever to do. Anybody who creates any scene will tell you that a major time sink is setting up and creating the scene in the first place, furnishing the environment, setting up the lighting, adding any characters, dressing those characters etc

Basically getting everything in place READY to render. Once that is set up we can then start to employ all the tricks in the trade to ensure things move along rapidly. Doesn't mean it will be completed overnight - but .. once everything is set we can crack on with it at a steady pace.

But yes. Five scenes left. Maybe that sounds a lot to some .. but take a look at one of your hands with the fingers and thumb. That's it (unless you've lost any fingers or thumbs in your time. Or your an alien.)

And maybe some might think that it will be all done in a week. No. Hold on, Tiger.

The end is in sight. I can smell it.

But don't get too excited just yet
