Dev Log : Coding

Continuing on my back-to-it drive - I've done quite a bit of behind the scenes coding this week.

Firstly, a bit of tweaking of things gone before. But secondly I've implemented the basics of a phone system.

I don't need it for this chapter really other than for one particular scene - but it was one of those things - once I got started on it then I just kept going with one thing after another until I'd built a bit of a monstrosity with calls in and out and a dynamic texting system which will easily allow me to add stuff in and out as we go forward.

I've even got it to include images in the texting system so Jack can use his phone for one of the main reasons guys use phones : to send dick pics to unsuspecting girls.

I haven't JUST been coding though. I've almost completed a major scene that occurs early on in Chapter 3 that see's Jack with a bit of a dilemma. It's an important scene and allows him to make one of 4 choices that could impact things down the line. It's not just a dilemma for Jack though as it will also be a little dilemma for you as the player .. One of them choices that Ironman exists for .. and then all the goodies that come of the back of it in both the short and long term!

So once it's finished the particular of this scene and then the short term consequences, that will be another one marked off the list.

There's a huge scene on the horizon that will finish off chapter 3 and is starting to get closer. Well, a say a "huge scene" - it's one of my "scenes" with multiple scenes contained within. Lots of multiples within. It's a biggie and one that will finally have a major character turn up and where the story really begins to start after all the set up so far.

There's still a bit to go before I get to that scene .. but my eye is on it now and I'm slowly planning it and gathering the bits that are needed. I wonder if I can use a Disney classic for the scene soundtrack : "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf .. the Big Bad Wolf .. the Big Bad Wolf .. "
