Is YouTube ultimately empowering or demoralizing for women? Read and share.
YouTube, like the U.S. government (among others, most of them), is a corrupt and troubled corporation. Corrupt not so much in the sense that it accepts bribes but in a systemic sense. It fails to do what it claims to do, what it should do, and what society expects it to do.
The Big Tech and the government(s) have created a charade that serves their own interests but misleads the public. What has emerged is a culture of lying.
YouTube corrupts itself, the public policy process, and the public’s perceptions, when it fails to allow channels like ours to discover or report the underlying realities. The most popular categories on YouTube over a decade were entertainment videos, which took in 24 percent of all views, followed by music and gaming categories. Ask yourselves why.
One consequence of the prevalence of YouTube’s truth decay is that the public’s confidence in all Big Tech gradually erodes. As people begin to realize that they are being misled, manipulated, and lied to, they resent it.
Women’s issues and life stories are no conspiracy theories. They deserve to be promoted and be pushed forward as much as possible. To educate, give hope and inspire. The chance of a channel making into the rarefied top 3 percent is best for comedy, entertainment, how-to and style, and gaming. Again, ask yourselves why.
It is worse for sports, education, nonprofit and activist groups, people and blogs. We need to know why this is happening and why Big Tech wants to hide the truth. One thing we know, is that the best defense against lies is the truth. YouTube’s agenda and the toxins it carries against us is polluting our efforts to raise awareness about one of the most important things in our world: life stories, humanity, hope, education, love.
We will keep pushing back and bring stories to the light because light disinfects. Support us, the only way to become stronger is together. Tough times don't last, tough teams do. Please invite your family and friends and share this page.
