An Explanation & New Start
Comrades. Friends. First, I apologize for my long silence. It had nothing to do with anyone in my writer's world and everything to do with my health.
Two years ago I was diagnosed with two slow, fatal illnesses, and have been fighting them ever since. I'm about to move into a community that will give me full treatment as well as housing and a community of other women in similar circumstances, near the home of one of my sisters and her family. My cat Scooter goes with me, and the others have either passed on or found other homes, except the Old Man, a semi feral resident who will permit three minutes of pets before signifying my audience is over. We are frantically trying to find a place for him, without luck so far.
Before anyone panics-- I will still be here! As I settle into my new home I have plans to engage more and more with you all, and perhaps even find myself making select public appearances again as I am able. We have dreams of making this Patreon a place for us to communicate, but for you all to find friendship and community as well. Replies to older posts are still coming, and you have no idea how much my little team and I appreciate your patience.
Thank you for bearing with us. Thank you for being you. I cannot begin to express my pride in my readers and their accomplishments, and hope this finds all of you making your own marks in the world!
P.S The Book Is Coming.

Hey, I can’t find another way to get ahold of the business side of your work. I’ve sent emails but no one responds. Please reach out to me at tody.jonesmith@gmail.com
I would be happy with knowing you are being cared for and that you are happy and ok. Please. Take care of yourself before thinking about us. You are a dear person to us and no one wants you to over do yourself and cause harm to yourself. Please hear me out. Care for yourself and your loved one(cats and humans).
I just signed up today. I started listening to The Circle in January last year. I have on average read (listened to) two of your audiobooks a month since then. Yesterday I finished Squire and I am starting to feel a slight panic already, knowing that a time will come when I will have no more Tamora Pierce left to read (for the first time, anyway). It honestly makes me tear up. These books have brought me so much joy and consolation through the past 1+year. I am eternally grateful. I am myself chronically ill and have very little money, so I'm a sparrow for now, but being able to support your work means a lot to me. I have been listening through the library, but one day I want to own all the books even if I can't read them (part of my illness). Thank you is a humble word. I wish you a comforting new chapter in your new home. <3 EDIT: To clarify, in Danish a lot of the books have been made in to two separate books which is the reason I've been able to read two books per month.
I'll put your mind at ease about one thing... I have re-read the Beka Cooper series every year for the past ten years and it never gets old...and when I then do the whole of her universes reread in subsequent order they too never get older :D
Hi! I am totally new here and had no idea until today that you have a Patreon. I just want to show some love and say that your books have been so important to me. I liked them a lot as a kid, but they became fundamental to me in my early 20s when I was struggling a lot with my health and difficult life circumstances. They gave me a space where I could relearn how to be strong and prevail against the darkness in my life, just like your heroines struggled and prevailed against the darkness in theirs. Your books have given me light and strength and hope. I hope that you are safe, happy, comfortable, and surrounded by loved ones despite the illness you are fighting. The books that you have written have been a gift to so many people and I want to thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart <3.
Sending lots of love your way. I know I’m not alone in the sentiment that your books are important to your fans but that YOU are most important to us. You have brought us so much joy by sharing your gift of storytelling. You have helped so so so many people feel like they aren’t alone (even when they are). You, beloved Tammy, and your words have been a light in so many people’s darkest times. Thank you is never enough but since gratitude is what we have it’s what I will leave you with. Deep appreciation and admiration for you. All my love! Take care of yourself ♥️
too late :p I'm predisposed to panic.
your health, well-being and happiness are more important than all other things <3
I just found out about this. I started reading your books when I was 11 and have had the privilege of meeting you twice These books have moulded me, shaped my ideas about morality and feminism. They bring light to my dark times and show me big changes are possible even when my first thoughts are small. But it's not just the books ... it's you, yourself. People talk about "never meet your heroes" but your kindness, intellect, humour, empathy have, from my experience, have exceeded expectations. I remember standing at the National Book Fair and you signed whole bags of people's books past the end of the fair. And that's the top of the positivity iceberg. Nothing can really express what your books have meant, except to say thank you from the recesses of my heart. I am re-reading Alanna right now, in the middle of book 3. I remember first realizing I could be more than a man in this world when I read it 20 years ago. You have given so much already. Don't worry about writing more, please just take care of yourself and your kitties. You are a beautiful soul and I hope you are experiencing little joys every day--that's what I always look forward to. Like my cats and dog relaxing on their beds instead of our in the cold, or the way a good muenster cheese tastes, or a hot shower, or even the pleasure of a good book while sitting on my heating pad. Revel in the small happinesses and know you have given enough for several lifetimes.
All of the best wishes to you as you navigate this new challenge. You bring so much light and joy into the world just by being you. I know that you and your work will continue to inspire generations of people for many years to come. I wouldn't be where I am today without your characters, world, and heart (no really -- I wrote my college essay about Alanna almost 20 years ago). I have always returned to Tortall in moments of both joy and grief. The true magic of your books is how they inspire all of us to learn more about ourselves with each re-reading. In my job, I am now sent around the world and sometimes live in places in which I feel rather uncomfortable, alien, or unsafe, but having Alanna, Daine, Kel, and others on my shelves always makes it feel like I am coming "home" at the end of the day. I very much hope your new home helps to alleviate some of the stress of everything. Sending peace, joy, and love. (Icky thing: I just realized that I hadn't updated my address since joining Patreon. I've been a Page for 2+ years, but haven't received a card or shirt yet - perhaps they went to an old address? I would be grateful to be able discuss with one of your managers (Jules?) if there's anyway to fix it. No pressure, but between my current overseas posting coming to an end and another about to start in a few months, I figured it would be worth asking. )
Wow. I went looking for any new releases of my favorite authors and found this. I’ve had moments before where I wished that I could write to favorite authors that were no longer with us to tell them how impactful their work had been for me, and since I have the chance now, I will attempt to put it into words for you. Wild Magic was the first I found, and I fell in absolute love with Tortall and all of the characters there immediately. Then I met Briar, Sandry, Tris, and Daja, and fell in love all over again. Your stories helped me to feel empowered and important to myself at a time when I struggled deeply with those things. From skimming the comments here, that seems like a fairly common theme, which clearly means you have done a wonderful job at it. You’ve created worlds where girls are powerful and amazing, and you’ve given girls and young women everywhere your work touches a vivid connection to bad-ass heroines. I don’t have children of my own, but I do have nieces and nephews (a lot of them are “adopted”) and I recommend or gift your books to all of them… I’ve even read them to some of them as babies. I consider it a tradition, because I want all of the young people that I have a chance to influence to know that girls and women can be heroines *and* human. I look forward to any new work of yours with excitement, and I wish the best possible life for you for the time remaining. Thank you for gifting me, and the world, with the magic and wonder of your works. Thank you for the characters who were there for me when it felt like no one else was. Thank you for the time, and energy, and frustration that I know goes into the writing and publication process, especially with the personal pressures. Thank you, and bless you, and when the time comes, we will miss you.
What a gift this is. Thank you for sharing your life with Tammy's work. I'm a guy who discovered Tammy's work as an adult and yet all of your words burned true for me, too.
So many wishes for steady health and easy moves for you all. Good luck to all the kitties too in their new homes too. I hope someone was able to take Old Man. May you have peace to your choices and their outcomes.
My heart is with you. I hope you can take strength from the many whose lives you’ve touched. Thank you so much for your writing. It touched my heart at a very young age, and I continue to return to it year after year. I keep coming back to Tris, who loves to read and has a sharp tongue and is never punished for those things or has to change; she just unlearns her prejudices and learns to direct her ire with more care. I keep coming back to Kel, with her strength and her conviction. Her quiet way of staying the course. The way she truly sees those around her, and they in turn are drawn to her integrity and strength. I come back to Rosethorn and Alanna and Buri and Daja and Daine and Briar and I will never stop being grateful for their stories. And with me, I carry the Sight that you showed me. The Sight to see magic in the ordinary. To see care and craft in cookery and spinning and song and planting and in my own hands and soul as I make reality out of my ideas. My art is best expressed through pottery, and my dedication to it is in large part thanks to you. Thank you for showing me the magic of creation I would dearly love to send you on of the stoneware tuneful whistles I make. I make instruments shaped like animals, yet another love of mine you encouraged. Is there a physical address available for fans to send gifts? I understand if not, but you’ve given me more than I can ever express, and I would love to give something to you in return. Thank you so very much.
I discovered your books when I was in middle school nearly twenty years ago. Your books were some of my first non-judgmental teachers about life and relationships, and about how things can start and end and that’s okay. I hope you are comfortable and that you receive the care and support you need. Thank you for sharing, and please take care of yourself first- we’re all behind you.
I found her books in middle school at about 20 years ago too!! Her books are the ones that got me into reading and I reread them so often. It’s kind of cool someone else is the same too!
I came across your books around age 9, and now at 34 listen to the audio books with my own 6 children who adore Alanna. Your books shaped my sense of responsibility to both my community and myself, and I still enjoy revisiting them. I look forward to continuing to see your impact on others and the brightness you bring to everything! I hope your move brings you what you need and your Old Man kitty finds his place.
Your books shaped who I am as a person. They are the first books I remember really, really loving. Getting on trouble as a kid for reading the Alanna books under my desk in math class is the story I tell when I explain how much I love to read. I hope you are feeling as well as possible and continued to do so. Thank you for your books.
"Your books shaped who I am as a person." I can't imagine a greater tribute than this. Kel and Daine's heroism in the face of larger foes inspires me to maybe be a bit bigger in my own unremarkable life. Thank you for sharing this.
I'm sorry for the struggles with your health, I'm glad you have found what sounds like a wonderful community set up to move to that can support you more, but I'm really sorry that you've had to give up badly all of your fur family too other folks, and I hope that you manage to get the Okd Man to agree to some help soon. Others have expressed far more eloquently how you have influenced and shaped our lives through your work. I found your books at the age of 9 and still read them at the age of 44. Reading the line in Alana as a child during the sweating sickness chaper about "She had been taught from birth that no job was too dirty for a true noble." Always resonated as completly logical in my childhood head, that basic concept that no job is beneath anyone and that everyone just needs to get stuck in - and that's stayed with me for life. Thank you and I'm looking forward to any of the content that you share, at the point you have the time to share it :)
I have really struggled to know how to do this, it’s taken me days to come and post a comment; it will be similar to many others on here I’m sure. Firstly, I hope that the move goes well and thank you for letting me know us know. I can only imagine how hard it must be to have said goodbye to your beautiful kitties, I’m so sorry. I have never met you in person but have always thought of you as my other mother. My parents did the best they could understand the circumstances of their life but I was a challenging child for many different reasons. Finding Wild Magic and connecting with your work was really the first time I felt acceptance. Alanna helped me learn about gender bias, puberty and standing up for myself. I have her quick temper, fear of spiders and the cold and her determination to face challenges. Diane spoke to my love of animals and being a voice for the voiceless, I used it to fight for animal welfare and in disability advocacy. I even look just like her with thick curly hair a stubborn chin and blue eyes, I had never found a character with hair as unmanageable as mine before and I loved her immediately. Kel made me realise it was ok not to want relationships, that I wasn’t odd for preferring my job over dating. She also taught me that it is ok to not always be in control of the world around you, that when you can only control yourself that can be enough. She made me appreciate the strength in my body rather than always worrying about how it looked. I have a list like this for each of the characters from all of the times and worlds. What it meant for me though is that I learnt about myself and the world from you. It wasn’t such a bad place any more and maybe I could find acceptance from myself and from others. I have, finally just in the last few years I have found the family I needed and forgave the past. The jarring truth is I wouldn’t have made it past 20 without your books. They saved my life and I have spent it honouring the things you taught me. I’m 42, I have volunteered in animal welfare and disaster response my whole adult life. I worked as special needs teacher and in law enforcement under the prevention of cruelty to animals act. I’m also a fitness instructor who works with people specifically to respect and honour their unique body rather than body image trends. I came out as pan at 40 years old after my father passed and am married to my best friend and soulmate. I work hard every day to make sure my trauma doesn’t ever hurt those around me. I grew up so well because of you. You should be so proud of your work. It has saved lives and changed the world for the better. I love you and I’m so grateful for you. I know the fandom refers to you as our queen but to me you will always be my mum. (Sorry about the alternative spelling, I’m Australian and we have those pesky words we spell differently).
I’m a new subscriber who can’t fully express how much your books have meant to me. I hope your move goes well and you find the community and support you need.
I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you get the best possible outcome. I've been reading your books since the first one came out...
Your books have truly impacted the way I think and care about the world, Daine’s series in particular. I hope for all the best for you. And if it’s weird for you to know that someone named their daughter after one of your characters…well, ignore this bit 😸
I'm sorry to hear of your health and other challenges. Glad you're able to move somewhere with more support. Hope someone can take care of the kitty for you. 💖
Thank you for the update. Thank you for being an incredible author and steward of kindness to people and animals alike. I hope your move goes well.
For the past 20 years, your books have brought so much meaning, companionship, and frameworks through which to view the world into my life. I remember reading the Circle of Magic books in middle school and breathing in for 7, holding my breath for 7, and breathing out for 7 because that's what Sandry, Briar, Daja, and Tris did. 20 years later, I find myself listening to those audiobooks and mimicking their meditation again, but now it's because I spend a lot more time thinking about how to manage my adult stress and anxiety. Thank you so much for the stories and worlds you've shared with us. I echo what others have said - I contribute to this Patreon because I'm so grateful for your impact on my life, and you don't owe us anything. I wish you comfort and companionship on this next move.
Someone asked me who my hero was last week, and the only person I could think of was you. I hope to be like you as I grow older--not just a writer of beloved stories, but an all around good person. I hope that the new place makes you feel supported and like at least some of the burden of dealing with your illness has been lifted. And like others have said before me, I give to your Patreon because I cherish the impact you've had on my life. Don't feel like you're letting us down, because you are most certainly not.
I am so sorry to hear that your health has been such a challenge to you. I am very glad that you are finding a path forward that will support you and provide what you need for body and spirit in the form of community. I am glad your Scooter can go with you. Like so many here, your books have provided comfort and hope when life had little of that to offer me. I treasure the memory of discussing spinning magic with you after spinning through your panel at FairyCon in Baltimore several years ago. Thank you for all you have done. May your move be smooth and may the new place become home soon. Gods all bless you.
Wishing you well on your move. I hope that the new place gives you the assistance you need and is also a lovely community. Looking forward to hearing more after you are settled.
I stumbled over your Daine books when I was... probably 7, sitting outside my headmaster's office after getting in trouble for pushing back about being bullied. They resonated with me, and I made my way through the rest of the Tortall books, which were an important part of the rest of my childhood. You and Terry Pratchett, excellent company. ❤️ Hopefully you have many happy years left, but please know that you made a difference.
I hope your move goes well! You're awesome, so I'm sure you'll make some awesome friends in the community too! And aah I wish I could take in one of the cats! If the uk weren't so far away! :( But anyway, your work is amazing and so are you, and one's own physical and mental health is of the utmost priority, so don't worry about us, based on all the replies, I think I can safetly say that we will be here to support you however we fans can!
There's nothing more important to those that love you and your work than you help. If I could I'd take the Old Man, but I could make him cross an ocean. Take care and don't worry about creating content, we all just want you to be happy and safe. You have given so much already.
So glad you are able to take care of yourself and be supported. We will be here whenever you’re able to share with us 💜
The best PS. Also, and I think the vast majority of this community would agree, I give with no expectation of anything in return. It's a way of giving back just a little of what you've given us. Well. Really the world. 🤍
Your books mean everything to me and I still reread them all the time. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. Please take care of yourself and do not push yourself for our sake. We care more about your health than a new book.
You are the reason I am still on this plane of existence, your stories of Tortall and everyone who dwells within that realm gave me comfort and friendship when I had none as a child. Even now, as a 36 year old adult, they remain a treasured place to return to when life feels like too much. I cannot begin to express enough gratitude to you for sharing your gifts with the world. Thank you ever so much. Thank you also for this update into your life. You owe us nothing, but we love that you share with us. Gods be with you, Tammy. 💜
Thank you for everything. Take care of yourself as best you can.
Thank you for the update and please don’t apologize for focusing on your health! Sending love and hope of healing your way
Thank you for the update. Your stories have been an incredible source of comfort for me through different phases of my life. Most recently I re-read The Circle of Magic and The Circle Opens which I had not read since I was in much closer in age to the children. I was delighted with the re-reading that I could now sympathize with the adults in the story and am so incredibly grateful to you for giving the world stories that can provide your readers joy and comfort at different stages of their lives. I am hoping your new community can provide you the kind of comfort and peace of mind that your stories have provided so many others. I am also positive that Old Man will soon have a streak of good luck finding a new audience. Having once been the provider for my own Old Man, these dignified and sometimes tolerant fellows do have a way of attracting those in the world who will take the best care of them.
Sending a great deal of love and hope that you'll find the care and community you need to live the best life possible, whatever that means to you ♥
Thank you for sharing this with us. I’m sending you wishes for comfort and community in your new home. Soon your writing will have been a part of my life for thirty years. I recently reread the Circle of Magic quartet and realized that I am now older than Lark and Rosethorn. When I first read them, I was younger than the four protagonists. I will always treasure your stories and be grateful that you put them into the world.
I wouldn't be who I am today without your books. Sending you love and I hope, comfort. Take care of yourself. <3
Thank you so much for sharing an update. Moving is hard, especially when you have to give up precious things like Kitty companionship. I hope the new space will be lovely once you're settled and give you the support you need. I was sick with a cold last week and I re-read via the new Audio books the Lioness Quartet and it was a great comfort to me. 💗 And I really enjoyed reading the First Test graphic novel a couple of weeks ago, as a comic creator myself that was a delight!
I’m so glad you’ve found a place that can be a home and a help to you!!! Don’t worry about us, we are all glad you are focused on your health! May you and your kitty settle in well and quickly! Thank you for everything as always!!
I send the biggest of thank yous to you for your continued presence here with us on this site as more time-consuming ventures pull your attention and energy away! May the slow-moving illnesses suffer the most ignominious defeat (or at least the longest delay) and may your one precious kitty 🐱 bring light to your new home. Good luck with the move, and we are so glad to know you here.
Sending love and hope to you and yours
Highest hopes and deepest respect for you! I read your Circle of Magic as a young kid. I introduced it to my college friends, and we bonded over it, its adventures and characters that pull on the heart. I wish I could send you my strength, my words, my magic! Please take care, and I watch with love.
Wishing you all the best Ma’am. Please take care of yourself and your family, two-leggers and the Beast People
So much love and care to you! Your health is utmost important and I hope you know your community wishes nothing more than for you to be good first :) thank you for making updates when you can and we will always look forward to your works and messages as they come!
So much love to you!! Glad you’ve found a place of community close to family. I know how important that can be in healing the spirit when faced with ongoing health challenges!
Echoing all the thoughts above! You've been such a big part of my life for over 20 years (though we've only interacted once, you replied to a comment and made my heart beat fast). I think of you constantly and worry about you as I do my mom; you were born only a few weeks apart and she also has several chronic illnesses. I wish you all the best in your new community and hope Scooter is a comfort to you as things change! Love from Texas <3
Good luck with your move I hope it all goes smoothly and makes your day to day life a bit better. Love to you and your kitties I hope you can find a good place for Old Man kitty.
Thank you for the update Tammy, you have been in my thoughts and heart. I want you to know that my oldest kid, who grew up reading your books, published their own novel this year. Wishing you all the best for this next step! 💙
Tammy, thank you for sharing these private and vulnerable news with us. I wish you all the best, and I'm so grateful that you're keeping us updated and that you're still writing.
You gave me some writing advice once, and after some really bad health of my own, I finally started working on my story and have written 200k words since then! Still a long way to go with editing etc., but I couldn't have done it without you. <3
Like so many others, I wanted to let you know just how much your stories have meant to me over the years. Since I was a little girl, your books have been a cherished part of my life. I'll never forget discovering Alanna in my elementary school library over 20 years ago and not being able to put it down—it sparked my love of reading. Even into adulthood, your books have provided me with strength. A few years ago, I lost one of my closest friends, a K9 Officer who was shot and killed while on duty. Just a few months before, I had read the Beka Cooper series for the first time and recommended it to him. Her passion reminded me of his, and when I read about Beka and her friends, I feel close to him. I am deeply grateful for the light your writing has brought into my world. You're in all of our thoughts. Sending you love. 💕
Health and wellness first, I'd rather hear news about you getting better and in good health, than I would a book release. The stories you have already crafted have left a massive impact on me and countless others. Please take care of yourself.
I've been reading, and re-reading, your books since I first walked into that middle school library back in 2007 and saw an orange book edge and beautiful horse cover that said "Wild Magic" and I was swept away into the magical world of Tortall, and then later Emelan. Your work has inspired me and supported me when times got tough, you truly live in my heart for what you've put into this world ❤️ Many well wishes for your health and hope that this move goes smoothly and I hope you continue to prioritize your health ❤️ Thank you for everything Tammy 🥹😊❤️
I just want to add my voice to the chorus. I came later to your books than a lot of your readers, and through the Emelan books rather than the Tortall (which, to my experience online, seems to be a much rarer circumstance!) However, even coming to your writing as an adult, you've still made an indelible mark on how I view the world -- and, perhaps more importantly, the kinds of stories I want to tell! The kindness and compassion you show to your characters is remarkable, and your willingness to trust your readers (especially your younger ones!) is, in my experience, unmatched. I doubt you'd remember it -- it was almost a decade ago now, and a relatively minor encounter in the grand scheme of things -- but we met during your appearance as a guest at Hal-Con, in Nova Scotia, while I was volunteering. Despite my increased level of involvement with the convention in the interim years, I still prize my interactions with you (and the praise you offered for my perfect microphone placement!) as a highlight of my time with Hal-Con. Thank you for all the stories -- I wish you all the best as you move forward in your new circumstances.
Your books had such a tremendous impact on me growing up, playing a large part in shaping who I am today. As an adult, I think they have been just as impactful! Coming back “home” to Tortall helped me reclaim the strength, courage, and humor that I thought I had lost as I started to deal with my own serious health issues. Much to my delight, there were many new (to me) stories (the circle books, Beka Cooper, short stories, Numair’s book). What a tremendous gift you have given all of us! I will forever be grateful. Sending you much love and hope as you transition to this new community. I’m so glad you will have at least one feline friend with you, I know that my chatty Tortie has made all the difference!
Dear Tammy, I think I speak for a lot of your Patrons when I’m saying I’m not here with any expectations. I‘m just here because I’m so thankful for what your books have done for me over the last 30 years and it genuinely gives me joy to show support for you and your work. I’m so sorry about your health struggles, and glad that you’ve found what sounds like a good support system and living situation. I’m sending you all my best wishes. Thank you for everything! Lots of ❤️ from Germany, Kerstin PS: One of my great joys these days is introducing my daughter to your books. The third Daine novel arrived today (I don’t own the German translation, only the English original).
Dear Tammy, you are such a treasure to us all! On a personal level, your books helped me through a bad childhood, and helped shape the kind of adult I decided I wanted to be, and I am so incredibly grateful for that. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnoses, and I wish you and all of your loved ones all the best as you continue to navigate your healthcare journey.
Tammy, You do so much for your readers. For your felines. For your loved ones. For aspiring writers. It has been over a decade since I attended your writing workshop, back when you stayed in the dorms and joined us for meals and late-night tomfoolery. It is still one of my most treasured memories. As much as I hate to hear about your diagnoses, I am glad to know you are taking care of yourself. The Book is nothing compared to your health and quality of life. Much love, An Alphan, ‘12-13
Thinking of you and sending you all the good thoughts and love. Take care 💜💜
Dear Tammy, your books have been a beautiful light for me for over twenty years. They have gotten me through my own difficult health struggles, and have brought me joy every time I pick them up. I hope that you are comfortable in your new living situation, and that you and your loved ones are well-sustained by the community you have created. Much love, and many prayers for your health 🩷
Sending so much love! I’m very glad Scooter will be coming with you. 🐱
You have been a huge inspiration to me for 11 years, and you continue to inspire me as you pave the best path you can for yourself through difficult things. You have had a cherished impact on so very many lives, and you deserve every comfort and joy. So much love to you Tammy ❤️🛡️⚔️🏔️🏰🐈⬛ Wishing you well always.
Sending you lots of love and good wishes for wellbeing in your new home and community!
Sending you all the love and best wishes ❤️ I hope it's comfortable place to live and that they're good to you! And I'm thankful you get to bring a familiar face with you 🐾
Dear Tammy - Do what you need to do for your best life. You are loved so much.
Wishing all the best for you. You have made a difference in my life for the better 💚
Sending you all the best, Tammy. You have given us all so much over the years and I hope that we can continue to give you community and light as you experience this transition.
I hope you are able to find some comfort with the changes that are happening for you. Thinking of you and cheering you on from the sidelines!
Take care of your health. Everything else can wait! (Though I confess to delight at the prospect of a new book!)
I'm sending you and Scooter lots of love, and I'm wishing the very best for you. Living in a community with people in similar circumstances will be reassuring and uplifting. ❤️
Thank you for sharing with us ❤️ so sorry you’re dealing with all of this. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family.
Your books and worlds changed my life as a kid in the late 90s. I'm the person I am partly in thanks to you, and I'm so thankful for you ms Tamora! My prayers are with you and yours <3
I'm so sorry to hear about your illnesses and that you have to move away from most of your cats. Thank you for all the awesome books and I hope you know how much you mean to us. ❤️
Best wishes for a comfortable new home! The health diagnoses sound quite daunting, but I am glad that Scooter is able to remain with you in this new home. While I know that I would love to catch a future public appearance, I know we will all respect your decisions about what is best for you.
I'm so sorry about your cats. it's hard to move away from animals like that. I hope this move makes your daily life easier!
Sending thoughts of comfort and love
Long time fan, first time poster - I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnoses. But glad that you are able to have support and community for their duration, and that your kitty can come with you. All of the best. And thank you for the many, many amazing written works you have shared so generously with the world. ❤
I am so glad you have found a new place for this stage of your life. Also I want you to know that your PS was exactly as delighting and frustratingly brief as I am sure you intended - I hope you get delight in this confirmation of the mix of emotions you have and can elicit with four words.
Thank you for sharing this news with us ❤️ I am so heartbreakingly sorry you've been dealing with this, and I'm sending you all the love in the world. Give Scooter and the Old Man my love, too! PS. That last line was perfectly written. We Anxiously Await.
I’m 36 and have 2 debilitating illnesses. Your health and comfort comes first above all else. Losing your health is deavastating and pointless.
I'm glad you are finding the help that you need!
Sending you all the best wishes and comfort
Stay safe and happy, Ms Pierce! 🙏
All the best. I found you and your worlds when I was 18 and have loved them for 30 years.
Sending you love, light, and luck with everything going on. Thank you for sharing, and thank you as always for the wonder that your stories, and you, have brought into this world. I just had the opportunity to recommend one of your books to a friend, and I'm so excited to get to bring her into this community 💕 Keep prioritizing your health, I'm glad I get to support you in a small way!
Sending all the well wishes and love!
We love you and wish you all the best. I have been so worried and to hear anything, even though the news isn't the best is a great relief. I am sending you all my best energy to keep your spirits up and the progression at bay.
