WaB. Goblins' caves
The battle background for the goblins' caves.
I feel like it looks a little too busy for a background, but let's see how it will be working in game.
I made the variant with fire/light just for fun :) Not sure if it will be used somewhere in game, but who knows.
On the left side of the last picture you can see fragments from Calm's works. I love his backgrounds, so I put these fragments on the canvas as inspiration and references. Also there are a few photos of real life landscapes from reference packs.

As for the caves being too busy. The first thing that popped out to my eye was simply lack of contrast between walls and floor. Maybe just a different shade or material on the floor to make the two distinctive. What I mean can be seen in the blue tone cave. The text box gives the floor just enough difference in tone to make the it pop and noticeable to the eye. Great update , thanks!
If it would be a seen under the sky, I would agree for sure, but I think inside the cave it should not work this way. The light from the sky would make the the floor more blueish but inside the cave there are same lightsource for the floor and the walls. I was trying to show the difference with different value and different texture :)
Отличная идея разнообразить локации и «вдохнуть» в них новую жизнь. За время прокачки глаз замыливается и новые фоны разнообразят выполнение ежедневных однотипных квестов на репутацию!
Я планирую заменить все стандартные фоны для экрана битвы на собственные, но это займет время :)
I don't find it too busy. Especially if you use the dark (blue) variant, because the character art pops with it's different colour palette. By looking at the goblin girl with the torch though, now I'm missing the illumination effect it would have ^^'

May be if someday you will add "few step dungeon" where you will have to fight a number of enemies in the row, which power will grow step by step, the light variant can be used like the sign of the last (and the hardest) battle
Yep, it could be used for something like this. The fact how strong the light from the fire looks is associated for me with a dragon or a fire demon. Not the type of monsters you can usually see in WaB :D But it could be a busty dragon I guess
