Here is a cool and useful guide that Wake wrote for us. (The PDF file is attached to this post) I think it would be very helpful for those who just started to play WaB, but even for me it was quite interesting to read. Especially I like the part about characters :)
If you feel that you can play the game without the guide, please, do it :D I need to know in which places players have problems

i recently lost my previous save files so this is very helpfull thanks wake for taking the time to make this
finally i was able to complete all quest.. only thing unable to get is how and were to use the Urn with ashes

I've never found the darkness spell how do you get it?
I believe you level up a few times. I think you get the Darkness spell around level 3, off the top of my head. You level up quickly by doing the main story and Eric's adventures! :D
