HOW TO PAINT REALISTIC FIRE - 3. SIDE MATCHSTICK FLAME

If I could add my own two 'penn'orth' I am trying to improve my skills at landscapes and portraits. I don't know whether these are within your repertoire. I completely agree with everything that Colin has said and perhaps you could incorporate a few techniques into either a portrait or a landscape. Please keep up the good work.
Great thanks Adrian. I'll certainly have a think of a suitable landscape I could make a video for. In terms of the portrait it's less in my comfort zone, but might be just what I need to kick start more human figures in my work! Thanks again, feel free to give input any time, it's always welcome.
I love both, but I do thoroughly enjoy the specific tutorial videos. I think watching you go through the process of a full painting from scratch helps give the sense of what it's like to start with a blank canvas and fully realize your idea to the end result. There are many elements that go into the full paintings, and seeing how you transition between them and join them together is a skill I think most struggle with. As for the specific tutorial videos, I love the focus they bring to just one element or aspect that could be incorporated into a full painting. While they are more simple in nature, I think the videos about the fire and bubbles were some of the most interesting videos you've done. I'm sure everyone views them differently, but I personally find that I take away something different from each one, each valuable in their own way. This could take some thought and planning ahead of time, but I think it would be interesting to see a series of tutorial videos, each teaching a different skill/aspect/element, with the series concluding with a full painting video that combines the skills you've taught through the tutorials. Perhaps you could approach this similarly to the video where you combined different paintings together to create a new one. The elements you bring together could be the previously created ones from the tutorials, or newly painted ones that use the same skills. I think giving the tutorial videos context through a full painting video would show others how to utilize what you've taught in a more broad sense. Anyway, I apologize if that was longwinded! Just my opinions and suggestion, but whatever you do, I look forward to learning more and see what you create!
Thanks Colin that's really useful and a great idea to combine the tutorials to make a larger piece. I will definitely give that some thought and see if I can plan a way to approach that. Really appreciate the feedback, I want to keep developing what I offer up, I might try something other than fire for my next video and return to it later, as I notice less interest each fire painting tutorial I put out. I guess they are very similar in nature and only interesting for the most committed art students lol. Perhaps if I keep alternating between different elements as well as full painting etc., to keep things fresh. Thanks again really helpful 😊
Learning more and more with each tutorial! Keep it up James! Each video gets better and better!
Thanks Colin I will. It's going to get more complex soon though lol
