Exactly the same thing Tony - I've never had the cash to splash on loads of materials, and was raised to be pretty frugal about stuff. This unfortunately leads to 'saving things for a rainy day' that never comes and thus not enjoying them... and being too nervous of 'waste' to experiment and play with materials. Digital takes all that away, I can play around with styles and 'materials' as much as I like and as a result have been far bolder with colour and subject than I ever would be with traditional, and it is crossing over into my traditional work too!
Tony, I feel the same as you. When I can’t paint in my studio I sit in my recliner and draw in procreate, lol! I find that drawing every day and using Procreate has improved my traditional art and has made me a more confident artist too!
Do you think drawing digitally helps improve art skills. I have mainly worked traditionally in the past and I find working digitally has Improved my art in general . I think its because I no longer fear wasting materials
