Rain Last Summer / 去年の夏の雨

These photographs were taken last August.

I really love shooting outdoors in the rain.

Until now, Roca has featured many photographs taken outdoors, while mammal has focused mainly on indoor studio shoots with fetish clothing.

These photographs, however, do not seem to fit comfortably into either of those styles. I have not been able to think of the right place to publish them, which leaves me feeling a little uncertain about what to do with them.

I may include them in Roca, or I may decide not to after all.

In Roca, I have always preferred photographs that leave room for the viewer to imagine a story. When a model wears fetish clothing, however, I sometimes feel that the space for imagining such a story becomes much narrower.

And perhaps that is also part of what makes these photographs interesting.

They are very good, though, aren’t they?

去年の8月に撮った写真です。

雨の降る屋外で撮影するのが、とても好きです。

これまで、Rocaでは野外で撮った写真を多く掲載し、mammalではフェティッシュな衣装での屋内スタジオ撮影を中心に掲載してきました。

ただ、このときの写真は、なんとなくそのどちらのテイストにも収まりきらないような気がしています。掲載する媒体がなかなか思い浮かばず、少し悩ましいところです。

Rocaに載せてしまうかもしれないし、やっぱり載せないかもしれない。

Rocaではこれまで、物語を想像できる写真を好んで掲載してきました。一方で、モデルがフェティッシュな衣装を身につけると、そうした物語を想像する余地が、少し狭まるようにも感じます。

そして、それ自体が面白さでもあるのだと思います。

でも、とても良いですよね。
