2001.
2001 was a monumental year for video games. A year that saw the formation of the modern console landscape.
It's the inevitable follow up to the 2000 video - the first video did quite well, so I'm testing further viability. I'd quite like to cover the entire noughties eventually.
Next up: I'm not sure yet. The Molyneux series ought to continue, so I'll lay some plans for that. But equally, I think it's time for RetroAhoy to return. I can't rule out something off-the-wall, either. I guess I'll see what takes my fancy over the next week or so.
In the mean time, Merry Christmas!

It was a crazy year! Seemed to go from playing Playstation and N64 one moment, to a bit of Dreamcast (for those of us who had one) to Halo the next. It felt like life got a resolution upgrade. I remember going into town for uni, only to walk by GAME selling the Xbox and no sooner had I walked in than I was on the train back home to my friend's house where we all dogged school/uni/college and played 4-player Halo for about 5 unbroken years.
Don’t forget to add the Quirky Games, when you get to 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. (Katamari Damacy, LocoRoco, Patapon and LittleBigPlanet)
By the way, Nice Video and Happy Holidays!
What a blessing. This was a time to game. Happy holidays!
Thank you for the early 2001 video release! ^^ Was interesting to learn that Bungie had been developing games for Mac until Microsoft bought them!
Oh it was considered a grave betrayal when they were bought
It's always a good day when Ahoy has a video. This one was great. I can't wait for what comes next, but I absolutely think done one video for each year from 2000-2009 would be great.
Merry Christmas! Thanks for the early present, hope you and yours are keeping well during this years Yule tidings :)
Merry Christmas! Thank you for helping younger folk find out the noughties are nice.
As good as always. The music selection was brilliant.
Please do a second Molyneux video 🙏. I was so hyped the second one.
