Important Update: Shaping the Future of Nice X Collectibles (New Voting System)
Hey everyone,
We want to talk openly about where Nice X Collectibles is at, where we want to go, and how we can make this Patreon the absolute best experience for all of you.
First off, our main goal has always been simple: to deliver top-tier, high-quality, highly detailed models that stand out in your collection. But lately, weave run into a recurring issue that we know frustrates you just as much as it frustrates us.
Because of how our open suggestions and polls currently work, we keep running into overlap with other Patreons. You guys suggest cool characters, vote on them, and then boom”we end up working on the exact same character as another creator in the very same month (for example, multiple Patreons dropping Bishop or Absolute Bane at the same time).
We have always tried to avoid doing what everyone else is doing, but the current poll setup makes it almost impossible to dodge. When everyone does the same sculpts, it hurts the uniqueness of what you're paying for, and it makes it hard for our community to grow.
And the reality is simple: if a Patreon doesn't evolve and grow, it eventually fades away. We love this community and this work far too much to let that happen, but to stay alive and thrive, we need to adapt.
Whats Changing: Theme-Based Releases
To fix this and keep our drops fresh and unique, we are officially shifting away from wide-open character suggestions to a Theme-Based Model.
Heres how its going to work going forward:
The Theme Poll: Every month, well put up a poll featuring a few distinct, high-concept themes (e.g., 90s Dark Fantasy, Cyberpunk Multiverse, Classic Animated Villains, Tactical Elseworlds, etc.).
The Character Vote: Once the winning theme is locked in, we will curate a select list of characters or concepts that fit specifically inside that universe for you to vote on.
This ensures that even if a popular character gets picked, the style, direction, and design will be completely unique to Nice X Collectibles and won't just be a carbon copy of what another sculptor is releasing that week.

There is sooo much stuff out there why always the same characters from Dc or Marvel … I’ve been looking for some more 80s style cartoon stuff actually the Visionaries I’ve only seen one unique Visionaries ever and no longer available … MASK characters , etc etc
I like the idea, though I think it's a bit broad. May wanna focus it a little bit more, suck as down to a single IP. As to multiple sculpts of the same character in a month, I'll say that I'll get them all if it's a favorite! And I trust yours will be among the top or best!

After 3 1/2 years in this printing journey, I'm somewhat burned out on the whole polls/suggestions thing... If it's a poll, I know who's going to win based on how "90s" or female they are, ("Ooh, another Street Fighter Cammy!"), and it doesn't seem to matter if four other Patreons have delivered the same character over the last three months ("Ooh, this one's in street clothes!"), the predictability is exhausting ("More Turtles!!"). And suggestions are just an exercise in beating my head against a brick wall. I just turned 58 and the stuff I'd love to see made and been suggesting endlessly (Marvel's Micronauts, Mike Grell's Warlord, Matt Wagner's Grendel or Mage) - properties literally nobody else is doing - doesn't even get reactions because they're nowhere near "90s" or "female" enough. So, as far as a "theme or specific direction" I'd like to see you tackle first? Pretty easy... "Literally Anything Pre-1990".
You are totally not wrong at all. I agree but hey don’t knock my turtles haha. I waited so long to release them bc of that reason
When ever I see any patreons do polls and character suggestions, most people just keep suggesting the same characters over and over, just in a different pose or different variation so it seems like you can't win. Me personally, I would love to see something other than comic book, super hero and anime characters. I feel like there's so many opportunities to do some classic and iconic TV series & movie characters but everyone just wants to paint 10 different versions of spider man or xmen characters
You know I def don’t disagree with you. The issue is and I’m sure you can understand is what keeps people around and why we also try to offer different things and we def need to take a different route but we want to keep people. So hopefully this helps some
As someone that subscribes to 40+ patreons a month, I'm always disappointed when multiple creators do the same character... but it's inevitable. And I get it - when a character is "hot" you WANT to make that. Part of the problem I've seen is that some people who also subscribe to multiple creators suggest the same character to several creators in the same month. Personally, I don't get why anyone would do it, but I see it every month. It's frustrating. So I'm happy to see that you will at least try to make things no one else is.

I don’t know about others, but I personally subscribed to the Patreon for the superhero and comic book villain models. At first, I was drawn in by your choice of rare characters—like Hammerhead, Spider-Man in Iron Armor, and Captain Cold. Later on, the character selection started to look just like everyone else's, which was disappointing, though interesting models—like the X-Men in retro costumes—did still come out occasionally. If the Patreon continues to evolve and ultimately moves away from the original concept that attracted me in the first place, I’ll likely leave the project. That doesn't mean the quality has dropped; it’s just that I originally signed up specifically for models of rare heroes and villains.
That’s fair but we also can’t always do the same thing we have three models and can offer a mix but allowing people to pick characters that they also pick in other patreons is hurting us. So what goods a patreon if it doesn’t grow but yet does the same thing. It’s going to kill itself
I think that’s a fantastic idea. It will help to shape the actual models you guys create and set you apart from the rest. I agree the problem is I see some of the same people post the same character photos in multiple suggestions chats. You guys going this route will eliminate some of the issues. Maybe keep a chat open for people to drop suggestions in so you guys have a reference later on for what people are interested in though. Looking forward to the new setup for models. ❤️
I agree def will leave the suggestion group we have as we want people to post theme suggestions there but yes it can be frustrating and also difficult when patreon who have been around so long drop 10 plus models in a month its like we can’t compete with that. So we lose a lot of people but its like you wont even print all those models so why need so many lol
