State of the Game: Year of the Bug (and Slime)

Evening all, it's a new year and a new update! v0.40.0 is now up for the public on the usual page, and v0.41.0 is now up for patrons. Additionally, the Overseer's Edition of Carnal Coup is once again on sale on Steam and itch, if you haven't picked it up already.

I've made a larger 2026 State of the Game post over on itch, but to focus here on the latest update: more Roth scenes! Pretty straightforward, with all of the Roth storylines being advanced a bit more. A background has also been added to Seduction combat encounters, so you're no longer being sexy in the void.

I'll also note that an apparently long-standing bug was found and fixed this cycle, which could cause errors to occur when some duty assignments were completed, breaking the current scene you might be on at the time. This bug will still be present in the free release.

Coming up, this next month is going to be a big one as I'll be focusing on getting the new Slime faction added to the game (actual species name coming soon)! Getting this faction set up will take me a bit longer than it did for the Roth, as the Roth were already a playable species and already had some of their setup done from the start. This means that there's a chance that I may not get any actual playable content done by the middle of the month, in which case I'll end up skipping the usual mid-month release. Either way, I'll make a post to let you know.
