Shards of the Past 0.4.0 - Dev Update #112

This past week has been a busy one with lots of updates to the images and testing of the story and code. I have played through the full game a few more times to review the most recent Branson paths scenes that were finished and updated some of the lines of dialogue and fixed any errors with displaying the incorrect images or in a few cases missing images. Running through the game and the linting program to check the code showed there was a missing label/scene for one of Branson's sending. So I added the dialogue and script for that and worked on updating it with some missing images. The ending for this release can go in so many different directions that it has been a large tasking making sure all my bases are covered.

The size of the game has doubled with this upcoming release. Both images and word count from this release only is now larger than the previous 3 releases combined. I will have some official numbers once I am done with any last adjustments to the script and all images are accounted for, but playing through with a few different choices or paths should give you all a nice chunk of content.

When I did have a little downtime from development I might have gotten my hands on a preview release of a game that I have been excited for and had a chance to play through it. Pink Spectre is a name that I am sure many of you might recognize from here and around other AVN outlets. Pink has been working on his own visual novel and it is coming out with it's first release very soon. Dreams of Glory is a new visual novel set in a fantasy setting that includes a host of interesting characters and an unfolding storyline. Pink has done a great job of creating crisp and colorful renders and the whole game so far seems to off to a great start with it's story, design, audio and beautifully laid out UI.
