Webcomicon 2026 Recap
The third annual Webcomicon has come to a close, and I think it was the best one yet. Nestled in the wonderfully gay suburb of Ferndale, MI, Webcomicon continues to be the MUST GO event for webcomic fans. We had another stellar line-up of amazing artists, and also me. Big thanks to those of you who were able to stop by, and a major shoutout to Elizashizzle for helping me run my lil sweatshop all weekend and being a total fucking boss.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that Elizashizzle also made Zach and I cute little friendship bracelets. Mine says "MARVELOUS"
If you missed it, I hope this photo gallery makes you feel like you were practically there. H*ck, you could lie and say you were and no one would question it. Frog car, Sonic kissing Minion, and Gunfield stickers continued to be hot ticket items. None can resist their corrupting force. It's a rare treat to meet my lovely readers in person, hear their stories, and sometimes get deep. I felt so much love and goodwill. It's easy to get cynical when you mostly see the world through phone apps, but that quickly melts away when you go out and get face-to-face with the good people out there.
Here's a fun little video tour of the con floor.
I mostly manned my table during the con, but I was able to sneak away for a "NSFW Draw Battle" Panel with Kim Winder (The Red Dot), Dave McElfatrick (Cyanide and Happiness, Boids), and Brian Gordon (Fowl Language). Here's one of many abominations I drew for that panel:
I think the prompt was "sex positions you're tired of seeing in sex scenes" or something like that. Anyway, I drew that. At a different point, Brian drew a whole bunch of boobs. Throughout the day, that drawing got passed around and eventually signed by everyone. I think I drew an additional pair of boobs with a piercing.
I also got a lot quality time in with my fellow cartoonists. It's so rare for us all to be together in one spot, so I really cherish it. Everyone is so funny, creative, talented, and kind. I never laugh harder than I do around them. Genuine belly laughs that make your abs sore. I feel so fortunate to be a little part of this wonderful community. You, that's right, You the person reading this, are also a major part of this community. All of us rely so much on our incredible patrons. You make the magic happen. On behalf of all webcomic artists, I thank you.
So that's a wrap on Webcomicon 2026. Hopefully this keeps going and growing forever. Next year, I might even have a new book for sale! I'm doing one more convention this November at NC Comicon in Durham, NC. I'll be joined by Rds to Nowhere, Beetle Moses, and possibly Extra Fabulous Comics??? More info at their website. Now I return back to my hole to continue the important work of producing the stupidest shit the world has ever seen.
Love,
JL ❤️

I really missed out on the nsfw battle, thats a great butt
That was just the tip of the buttberg.
The frog in a car sticker fuckin' rules. I wish I lived closer to this, I'da been there.
I wish you lived closer. You have 12 months to make that a reality, Adam. Go.
that drawing is kinda hot, and i can see you had a bottle of lube standing readily available on your table i can tell everyone had a lot of fun together
Standard issue comic lube. No artist leaves home without it.
G*rfield with a gun sticker is definitely worth 5 bucks.
Legally distinct orange cat* with a gun sticker is definitely worth 5 bucks.
HAHA was the picture of you at your booth the one I took? I didn’t even realize your eyes were closed lmao I was trying to hurry and get out the way of your FANS
Actually, you took a second one with my eyes open, but this one nicely represents my buffoonery.
