The writing for the first version is basically now complete, there is only one scene left that has to go through a second pass then it's pretty much good to go other than spellchecking. Similar situation for the coding, the game systems are now all functioning correctly and working smoothly.

The main artist now only has one full piece left to complete, and a couple of smaller bits. Pixel artist is also doing well, the main pieces for that should be finished in the next couple of weeks. It's so nice to be able to throw out the placeholder pieces I've been using, makes the game feel so much more real now that it's got the proper assets in place.

Animator is still MIA. I previously said I would go ahead and release it without animations, I think I've changed my mind on that point though. I did this before for regular updates, but as it's the first release of a new game, it's probably best to try and make the best first impression I can. So I'm now planning to hold off releasing until the animations are complete. The rest of the work will continue on at the same pace anyway, so it just means the first release will be a bumper one. I currently estimate it will be around 90 minutes long.
