Harem in Another World 2 Devlog #6 A first look at the Tavern

Showing off the current look of the tavern/guild you will be taking over. As you can see it's in a shoddy state. you'll need to fix it up, add decorations and maybe expand into some new rooms! This is still a work in progress and the final product will look different, some of this is placeholder, especially the current characters, and there's no lighting effects yet.
The initial plan was to have the tavern function more like a sandbox/point and click area where it was an image and you could click on the people in it to speak to them. In the end this was causing some issue and was going to create difficultly fitting different decorations together. So I decided to move this to a more classic map approach which you can walk around in. This makes it easier to switch out decorations and items and probably brings some of the gameplay closer to the first game.

Most of this week was spent on coding, setting up the ranks for the guild and the guild stats screen so you can see what parts need improving and how closer you are to the next rank up. It's somewhat boring work coming up with each threshold and coding it in, but it's quite nice to sometimes work on something that doesn't require much thinking and is more just grinding away.

Art and animation are now moving ahead of schedule. Need to catch up on the writing side. I'll probably keep producing art at the same rate, there's no issue with having more for the next update ready in advance.
