Discord Server Now Open! (Kind of)
I slapped this thing together real quick for the sake of letting people in who want in. I'm posting this here first because I want those who are interested in supporting me to have the first shot to join and help me figure out who should get what. I'm making this post public so that early adopters can get a better view of what they might be supporting. So yes, even if you aren't a supporter, you can join the Discord server so long as the link hasn't expired. If it has expired, you can't join. All of this might change in the future.
As of right now, special roles exist for supporters, but have no real features outside of some higher-tier stuff that I'm experimenting with. This will change in the future.
The link at the bottom of this post will let you join the server, provided to click the link within 7 days. After that, the server may close to non-supporters who haven't volunteered for something I'm asking people to do. We'll see what the future brings.
Speaking of asking people to do things, I'm currently looking for playtest volunteers. So far, a good number of people have given some really fantastic feedback, but what usually happens is giant walls of text before communication comes to a sudden halt. I highly value those people for taking the time to point out what they did or didn't enjoy about the game, because it helps me improve it in ways I may not have considered. As much as I'm capable of seeing multiple perspectives, the only one I really have is my own, so feedback is extremely valuable to me. Playtest volunteers will receive intermittent versions of the game when new content is added that I need feedback on. You'll encounter more bugs, and the game will probably be a lot less fun to play, but you'll have the opportunity of making a positive impact on both the project and on me as a creator without needing to make any monetary contribution. It's important to know that this is different from the early release versions that patron tiers will see; volunteers will get an incomplete version and help me complete it. V.I.P patrons will get the optimized version that the playtesters helped with before the release goes public. Involved patrons will get both, and I will weigh their feedback differently than the feedback of volunteers. This might change in the future, depending on how this community grows and how satisfied patrons are with their supporter benefits.
One final note - the server is very much a work in progress and in no way in its final state. Right now it exists mostly as a single channel for people to interact, another channel for volunteers, and a VIP room. It isn't a great way to contact me, but I'll be keeping an eye on things largely for moderation purposes. There will be a lot of things changing, such as server rules being added, more channels, more features and benefits for supporters, etc. Future.
