I'm Finally Ready to Share This
I've put off making this post for a little while now.
Last week, my partner got abusive drunk and destroyed my laptop. Because they were mad at somebody else that had nothing to do with me. I wish I were kidding, but I guess that's the rub when you're dealing with someone who is an alcoholic; things don't have to make sense, trouble is going to happen regardless.
I've gathered whatever belongings I could fit into my car and made the heart-wrenching decision to leave my partner. It's been a real roller coaster. I've talked to police, family, friends, and I'm now essentially homeless and couch-surfing for the foreseeable future.
The laptop seems to be repairable, but will probably take a couple weeks (if I can even afford it that soon). A friend has offered me their workspace for when I need it, although lately I admit it's been tough to focus. I expect it will be hard for a while, but get easier as time passes.
It seems like lately there is only ever bad news to share and it's getting to me. I'm hanging in there, though. I'm at my lowest low and will no doubt be struggling for a while to rebuild my life. I hope to be able to turn this grief into creative fuel, but for now I am still picking up the pieces of the life that I've lost.
As always, I can't thank you guys enough for your support. It continues to be a beacon of hope during these dark times.

This is crazy. I hope you are doing better now
That's genuinely horrifying. I'm glad you've gotten out of that situation.
In the paraphrased words of Elton John, you're still standing that's all that matters.
Good Luck, or as we germans say "Get on your feet as soon as possible". Be strong and succesfull.
