This Week's WIP and Previews
Alright, yet again we have a bunch of WIP to show off.
I'm trying to stay ahead and keep render times as efficient as possible by setting up plenty of scenes so my primary render machine as well as my back up are constantly working. With the studio being closed for 2 weeks at the end of October, it's imperative that I push out as many sessions in a row as I can.
First up:
More of the Hasshaku-Sama series from LP on the way. I ran multiple tests on this scene to make sure I kept it just as dark as LP originally intended, but not so dark that details are completely lost. It's tricky testing only on one HMD, but I know that anyone viewing should be able to darken/lighten the scene themselves as needed as long as I don't lose the details from the getgo.
More of the Sinia series, as well. This won't be quite as long a series, but it will still fit that Halloween theme quite well.
This is our big Halloween release that I've spent the most time on, along with the rest of our staff. Due to the scene's complexity, plus 4 sets of complex animations, this is going to take the longest to render. Cutecop did a great job on the animation for this and I'm quite excited to get this rendered and into VR. You can see from the three WIP screens that it has multiple position variations, along with strong volumetric lighting. I was thinking about having the generator lit up and animated, but realize the sound would just be annoying in the video. But between the 4 animated models, the need for perfect bounce lighting and heavy volumetrics that it's not a simple scene.
On to this week's releases! We're starting with our last non-Halloween themed scene before October, then moving right into Halloween content.
As some of our long time supporters know, I'm a huge Cyberpunk fan. I'm also a huge fan of Rachel specifically so when this was requested as a VRAR I was thrilled. Mendez really killed it on this one, and I'm glad to have this be how we finish up our normal content before diving into our usual October run.
Speaking of our October run...
...here goes our Halloween content. This is Hasshaku-Sama, by LP. I won't explain who she is ( a quick google should do the trick) but I'm glad where Lazy Procrastinator went with her. This is the 1st part of a series we'll be jumping into for Halloween.
On to more Halloween content:
I wouldn't say that Sara is scary or spooky, but I think and hope everyone is okay with some Goth girl content for October. Sara is an OC within the Dead or Alive universe, created by Chrissy-Tee, and they did phenomenal work on this model. Abysmal took lead on this for not only animation but scene build set up, with Kaeg helping on secondary animation and camera work.
With the studio needing an extended break at the end of the month, we're going to be releasing a lot of content over the next 4 weeks. I'm still actively working on rendering some of it, but I have no doubt I'll get through it all in time. The studio should average 4 releases a week until our break, and I think I can make that happen.
Don't be worried when the end of the month comes and we go quiet for a bit. I'd rather be up front with you and let you know ahead of time what's going on, and we'll be back as soon as we can. If anything I might release some content for you over the break, as it just doesn't sit right with me to go quiet for that long when you're supporting us. At the very least a studio exclusive and a compilation is my goal. It all comes down to render times on all of the scenes we have planned.
That's it for this week, but I'll be back next week with more WIP and previews.
Enjoy!
