[Not a Succubus] August Progress Report - Chapter 3 Is Getting BIG 🎃

Hi friends!

August is coming to an end, which means it's time for another Not a Succubus progress report!

Chapter 3 is going to have more new H-scenes than Chapters 1 and 2 combined.

We're currently looking at somewhere near 40 new scenes for this update alone. So... yeah. We've got a lot to animate. 😅

That's one of the biggest reasons this update has been taking a while, but I have some good news on that front!

🎬 We Now Have THREE Animators!

This month, our publisher noticed that production was moving a little slower than we'd ideally like, so they helped connect me with another animator.

That means we now have three animators working on the game, and the difference has already been noticeable. We've been cranking through scenes much faster than before.

So what does that mean for the release date?

Previously, I was aiming for around Halloween. With the progress we've been making recently, I'm now hoping we can actually move that forward by a week or two and release sometime in early-to-mid October.

I was secretly hoping I could surprise everyone with a late September release, but there's one complication: our main artist has just started a two-week break.

That'll inevitably slow things down for a little while, so I don't want to get ahead of myself and promise a date that we might not be able to hit.

For now, early-to-mid October is the goal, with Halloween remaining the safer estimate.

Once our artist returns and we're back to a steady production pace, I'll have a much better idea of exactly where we stand.

With that out of the way, let's talk about what we've actually been working on!

👀 New Characters

If you've been following our weekly character reveals, you've already met quite a few of the newcomers we've been creating for Chapter 3.

Our target for this update is still:

7 new Guests + 1 new Special Character

You can expect at least one more new character reveal in September!

👣 Animation Progress

Animation has been one of our biggest focuses this month.

At this point, I'd estimate we're around 80% finished with giving our current roster their HJ, BJ, and new FJ inspection scenes.

Once those are wrapped up, we'll be moving more of our attention toward the special scenes planned for Chapter 3.

And with three animators now on the team, I'm hoping September is going to be an especially productive month for us.

🎙️ Voice Acting

I've also pretty much finalized our VA casting!

We've been contacting and working with quite a few talented voice actresses over the past couple of months, and everything is finally starting to come together.

If everything continues according to plan, pretty much every character from Chapters 1 and 2 should have voiced scenes by the time Chapter 3 releases in October.

🌎 Localization Has Begun!

And finally, we've officially started localization for Not a Succubus!

The first languages we're working on are:

Chinese 🇨🇳 • Japanese 🇯🇵 • Korean 🇰🇷

If everything goes smoothly, I'd love to expand that list further in the future.

Russian 🇷🇺 is particularly high on my list. I've received a surprising number of requests for it—to the point where I didn't realize just how many Russian fans we had!

Localization is going to be an ongoing process, and this is my first time ever doing it, so don't expect every language to arrive at once, but this is the first step toward making Not a Succubus available to a much larger audience.

So that's where we stand at the end of August!

Chapter 3 is shaping up to be our biggest update by far: nearly 40 new H-scenes, 7 new Guests, a new Special Character, much more voice acting, and localization now underway.

There's still a lot of work ahead of us, especially with our artist taking a well-deserved break, but production has been moving faster than ever.

Early-to-mid October is what I'm aiming for. 🤞🎃
