Such a good fucking show.
I think in regards to Father Paul/Monseigneur Pruitt and the world they're in, I don't even think there would have been another potential theory. I don't think vampires exist in that world. I know demons do in the bible but are there ones that give life? I think maybe yes, there could have been a little twisting of knowledge to suit his narrative as to why he brought Batman back to the island. However, when FP/MP was giving confession in episode two, he quite literally quoted the bible. Every single thing from the "Angel" being terrifying and a warrior, drinking blood and eternal darkness is all from the bible. So whilst he could be classed a gullible, every single thing happening in the story can be referenced directly in bible quotes. So I don't think he has to try too hard to believe it at all. I truly believe that deep down he believed he was doing good. Maybe he would have questioned it more as someone younger and without a person he loved on the line. But I think he'd have made the same connection and decision regardless just because of all the points I made above
Also in the last episode I believe, he admits he did it for the mom and her child. He wanted a chance to be with her again. He wanted to heal her. It’s really a tragedy.
Within the first 7 minutes you can just see how incredible the world building is. I flipping love this show

Bloody loved this show and your watch through was fabulous. The poor Sheriff in this tried his best but I felt so bad for him :(
