Caravaggio, Red Shoulder Pads and a burning sensation.
A student gave me a burning sensation this week…
Of shame! He asked if I had done a skull tutorial or a tutorial on bone. I’m sure I had, but none came to mind. No, surely not. There must be something?
This week I shall be creating a bone tutorial to sit alongside the other Really useful videos.
But it’s got me thinking. What else have I missed?
Power weapons?
Simple NMM/ TMM for blades?
What would you like to see that’s blindingly obvious?
Announcements:
Weekend releases: Abaddon the First Captain of the Sons of Horus. FULL VIDEO
We’re taking a break from Prospero to delve into Abaddon. If you are a fan of Grim Dark paint jobs then this is for you. We discuss sub-surface scattering effects, how to create hybrid true metallics for blades, and the importance of Caravaggio.

I would love to hear your ideas about camouflage - I am trying to update my 40k Imperial Guard army from the way I painted it as a teen during 3rd edition and am having trouble making it look right! But from what you mentioned, Bone and simple TMM for blades would be nice!
As you know, I am a very new painter. I personally would like to see more topics about theory. Proper identification of volumes for highlighting, Color theory about picking proper shades and highlights or mixing your own. You might have those already, but there is a lot to sift through
Yes, the bone tutorial should come in handy! Do not worry even if you missed something once, you will have time to catch up with everything!
This isn't blindingly obvious but I've spent the last day trying to make a cracked helmet where I can see the part of wounded face of the praetor inside. I've seen quite a few people manage it such as your blood angels special character praetor with the hand flamer and axe, but all I've achieved is cutting my fingers to to robins and ruined an upgrade sets worth of helmets😂 it's obviously a niche tutorial but I think one people would love.
