2026 - Scouring Era

Let’s jump into that yearly tradition and promise to build an army that’ll be the talk of the town. This year, in the year of our Lord 2026, we’re diving into a painting challenge like no other—we’re heading to the Scouring!

Here’s the challenge:

Gather a 1.5k army set from the Scouring. Use the Horus Heresy 3.0 rules and army lists. All armies are welcome, marines, knights, solar aux - whatever you feel can make an army in the Scouring Era is welcome.

The challenge runs from January 31st to December 1st.

Every month, you’ll be presented with a challenge. This is the heart of the project: to keep you honest and engaged. People move at different speeds, so this is just a gentle nudge to get everyone involved.

The PDF includes all the details, the schedule, and optional rules to theme your armies during the scouring.

Month 1 - January: Pledge a faction and write an army list (1.5K) and post it in our Discord and post the below graphic on your social media with the #scouringera

Bonus: Buy a battleforce, starter box, or equivalent core purchase.
