The World of Angelica Keeps Growing
Good morning!
A month after my last post, I finally have a lot to share. Real life is chaotic as usual, but development keeps moving forward. Let's talk about Angelica Origins.
Over the past months, I've been improving my knowledge of Ren'Py and building a solid foundation for the game. I'm really satisfied with the progress so far. My previous experience developing RPGs is also helping me reshape the story into a format that works better for a visual novel, with a balanced pace and smoother character introductions.
Angelica remains at the center of the story, but each character will have their own story arc, all equally important. Rather than having a strict distinction between main and side stories, all arcs contribute to the overall narrative.
As mentioned before, there will be a gallery for the main scenes, but many events will also become repeatable activities. Once Angelica completes certain events, they become actions she can repeat in her daily life. The idea is simple: Angelica wakes up every day and is free to decide what to do. She can trigger new events if requirements are met, or simply explore the world and interact with characters.
The game is already playable, and these scenes are fully completed:
(Code) (Name) – (Unlock type)
EV001 Angelica Intro – Gallery and Extras
EV002 Angelica Part 1 – Repeatable activity
EV003 Angelica Part 2 – Story scene
EV004 Angelica Part 3 – Story scene
EV005 Angelica Part 4 – Repeatable activity
EV006 Angelica Part 5 – Story scene
EVAX001 Alexia Part 1 – Repeatable activity
EVNC001 Nicolas Part 1 – Repeatable activity
EVSI001 Simon Part 1 – Repeatable activity
EVSI002 Simon Part 2 – Story scene
EVSI003 Simon Part 3 – Story scene
EVSI004 Simon Part 4 – Repeatable activity (with Alexia)
EVSI005 Simon Part 5 – Currently in development
Before release, I want to at least complete Simon Part 5, expand Alexia and Nicolas' content, and hopefully introduce our lovely Ping as well.
My goal is to launch with a solid amount of content and then continue adding new scenes in consistent updates.
Now, back to work… unless you'd prefer I spend all my free time writing posts instead! ;)
Mike :)
