hehe Okay! Here are a few clues for you: it’s a very classic version of the character—notice where his left foot is resting on, what he’s holding in his right hand, the elements on his chest, and—even though it’s dark—the details of his helmet
Great read, I totally get the conflict between models of popular characters overlapping with other creators and more unique/obscure characters not resonating with as many people. You're doing a great job hitting that balance though!
Wow, thank you so much, Ronan. I really appreciate it. When you’re constantly deciding what projects to add to the list—month after month, sometimes even more often—can be difficult. And even unpredictable cause sometimes you do a character expectingto do really well and it doesn’t, and other times a model you didn’t have much hope for ends up getting a lot of attention. That’s why hearing your thoughts means a lot. It’s genuinely reassuring and makes me feel like I’m on the right track.
I totally get your editorial. It's with most companies. In fact, I had one model company owner tell me, it's like fast food vs a Michelin starred restaurant. Who makes more money? Right, the fast food joint. Why? Because of the value in readily available products that are popular and anyone can afford. If you want the Michelin starred meal, you'll be getting something few want or can afford.
Thanks so much, Daniel, for your thoughts on the editorial. I agree! A while ago, I even tried another strategy. I actually tried running a second Patreon with original, non-franchise sculpts (2 sculpts for mand) for $2/month subcription, but had to close it after three months. It just wasn’t sustainable—too much work and no real interest. For me, it’s all about finding a balance: choosing popular characters, but giving them a unique and personal twist.
