Was Cosmic Dust Responsible for Life on Earth?
What is cosmic dust? What is it made of and what can it tell us about the Universe? Could cosmic dust be responsible for life starting on Earth? Figuring it all out with Dr Craig Walton from Cambridge University.

Very late in the day timewise to respond to this recent interview/discussion. It is a hugely interesting subject and needs time available to not only watch it but think about it. The thought that Dr. Craig Walton is working on with an aspect of cosmic Dust being the 'fairy dust' to bump start life is as good as many other theories out there. This was a hugely interesting interview and I always found it so impactive Fraser that you always seem to be 'sparked' by the subject matter to produce questions that evoke such interesting and informative answers. As a bottom line I find it somewhat depressing to think that on the one side we have all these great people working on different theories to evoke and answer as to how life started. Then on the other hand, as in Ukraine, Gaza and many other places, people are destroying life. Do we really justify our existance?
Interesting conversation. Even if cosmic dust provided the necessary chemicals for life, we don't know what other conditions were required. It's insufficient to say just mix them all together in a warm muddy pool and life will happen eventually. Conversely if life can be created in a test-tube that will be amazing, but it won't confirm how life started on Earth.
