Plate tectonics might be the key to why Venus had become the hell it is right now. Some think that it just never had it. But recent studies suggest that Venus did have plate tectonics at the same time Earth did. Why is it important? Figuring it out with Dr Matt Weller.

Thank you Fraser for an enjoyable interview. The mention of nitrogen got me thinking about Titan and its thick atmosphere of (98% nitrogen ) which makes it far more like Venus and Earth than any other body in the solar system. I hope the Dragonfly mission can find out how it got the atmosphere and why it persisted when other moons are just airless ice and rock.

Venus receives 91% more solar radiation than Earth (1÷0.723AU^2.) Even when the Sun was young Venus received 64% more solar radiation than Earth does today (91%×70%.)
