I understand red giant stars have a very low density in their other shells. Could it be that Betelgeuse act odd due to it having consumed planets that are still orbiting around in there?
Since the moon has no atmosphere do orbiting satellites stay indefinitely?
I suspect that the tug of war with Earth may eventually have an effect but I am no expert. I suspect that such a satellite would probably take less of an effort to keep in place, that is, unless the tidal forces from Earth as mentioned.
