Could We Marsiform Ourselves?

Fraser, another great video! Lots of great questions posed here! I'm personally not so sure that GMO is exactly the way to go when we have more natural alternatives to explore first. Mind you that's just my view on things as a scientist. I totally understand change through breeding but to start messing with things on the genetic level makes me a bit nervous. I'm totally for testing things naturally by the means you suggest but am very hesitate when it comes to altering lifeforms on a genetic level - again these are just my thoughts as a fellow scientist all of which I freely admit could be wrong as again these are untested for the moment. It may be we will have to "evolve" albeit artificially in order to finally accomplish our goals for living off planet, but this would also mean that those born in such a way would not be able to to return to Earth without adaptive equipment.
