Q&A 79: Galactic Prime Directive Keeping Us In The Dark? And More... Featuring Ryan Macdonald

In this week's questions show, I explain why SLS is still happening, if we can rule out contamination when we finally find life, and wonder why China is sending spacecraft to the Moon.

In case you missed it, I had a great interview with Dr. Jason Wright about searching for technosignatures. You should watch it too.

Hi Fraser, you mentioned several things to improve our planet but you missed the one thing we are actually doing that is going to help immensely - getting away from internal combustion engines (ICE). Several car companies and countries have made bold statements that they will be off ICE in the next decade or so. Just that one act will go a long way to solving global climate change that the models do not take into account. Plus it will generally clean up the air we breath. And it's doable - not like some of the wild geo-engineering ideas that are floating around.

Hello Fraser, I really enjoy your videos..I have a question, given the progress that has been made with reusable space launch systems, like spacex, blue origin etc, what really concerns me is the apparent lack of political will to put significant resources into space exploration...be it manned or unmanned...its a really bad thing for us to be given spacex and blue origin/hopefully new Glenn/, and not make the most of it, and use each system to its upmost..even SLS has a part to play

James Webb space telescope is being put back and delayed , there is no successor to Hubble, aka the atlast telescope...there is some hope with the square kilometre array..but it seems to me that there is no political will to put serious resources into making anything happen...and also...I think that all the big things like exploring the moon and Mars really should be a collaborative effort of all of us, not just one nation,...
