Great
Can space debris be changed into matter collision be used as energy.
Frasier, what sort of package is this hiking vacation? Or is it a DIY thing? It sounds very fun.
Ok. How do we do that?
This has nothing to do with today's questions, but it is something that has been giving me brain-ache for a long time now. Is it possible that we can't travel far from the planet where we evolved due to the existence of instincts that are attuned to that planet? Perhaps we're like homing pigeons, that need the earth's magnetosphere, or some other fundamental property of our home world, to orient ourselves. It worries me that people could be sent on a trip to Mars at some time in the future, only to find that, on the way there, they suffer from terminal homesickness. I know we have been to the Moon, but that's just like walking out of our front door. This might also solve the Fermi Paradox to some degree. Perhaps all species suffer from this same condition.
Japanese soldier Teruo Nakamura lived in complete isolation in the Indonesian jungle for over 30 years after World War II ended, unaware that the war had concluded. No mission to Mars is likely to be 30 years anytime soon.
Ok, so question for the patron question show: if the matter/anti-matter annihilation follows the e=mc^2 equation, do both particles count towards the mass?
Well, the mass is the combined mass, and the energy is mostly emitted as photons, really high energy photons like gamma rays and x rays, along with a smattering of neutrinos and muons, along with other particles formed as the energy is recombined right after the atoms collide, which, if you do total them up is the total energy release. Suffice to say it is not a good place to be close to for large amounts, which means picogram amounts of antimatter is not something you want to be in the same room with when the containment fails, unless most of the room between you and that point is made from a blend of thick steel, concrete and lead shielding. In that case it is just going to result in you having a lifelong exposure dose event, if you work in the nuclear industry as technician. Or as comparasion, an average day at a coal fired plant furnace area worker.
Fraser Please leave the political narrative alone. The so-called attack on science is the result of journalistic misrepresentation. And as a journalist this can harm you. Most of us are with your channel to escape all this.
Agree with you. I usually Heart videos on this channel but did not this one because of the epilogue and not the actual content.
Birdlip is like 10 minutes up the road from me! Are you coming to Stroud at all?!
