Why not push the ISS to a high orbit instead of de-orbiting it? Will we ever send a probe to another star? Is quantum computing more promising than AI advances? And in Q&A+, how close are we to a technological singularity?

ISS is in LEO; it has insufficient radiation shielding to operate much higher. Also, much more expensive to reach/service at higher orbits.
It's nobsencical that not even a single module cannot be preserved for history's sake, since the I.S.S cost millions of hard working European, American, Canadian & Japanese taxpayers countless billions in subsidies over multiple decades . Perhaps there should be some kind of orbital "preservation yard" for the i s s and other space relics, the vaccuumbof space is the perfect environment for such an installation and can become a location for future generations of astronauts)space tourists to visit. I may be a dreamer and an idealist but others will say I'm a visionary and as John Lennon said "I'm sure I'm not the only one" and you don't know what ya got til it's gone!! ✨
Omg! I just realized Apple has been charging me $143 for masters of the universe level instead of Patreon websites $100! Highway robbery - so annoyed. Canceled and will resubscribe through website! CAVEAT EMPTOR
NASA did a full study of the options for the ISS about three years ago, and explored all three options and in true NASA fashion, looked at all the options and decided that dumping it at Point Nemo was the safest and most cost effective option...I suggest having a look if you want a detailed examination of the issue...
Thanks. Do we get another interview if we bump up to another level?
Using the Tug in 2030, why not slowly fly the ISS all the way to Lunar orbit to be the defacto Gateway? Station?
What is the highest orbit NASA could realistically boost the ISS to? What would be the outcome if NASA were to boost the ISS to that (graveyard) orbit and then just leave it there, unmanned and unmaintained, indefinitely?
I’m so glad and proud to be a small part of your community. Thank you for your integrity. It’s a quality sometimes not easy to find in this universe of ours.
Isle of the Dead by Roger Zelazny is this theme of a man who goes on a long journey ship and then finds when he gets out that super fast travel now exists and is a relic from a past era
Woo thanks for the shout out!
Thrills me too when a new Universe Today video or Interview pops up on Patreon. I know I’ve got enlightening time to look forward to with, as you said: no ads, nothing to ignore/skip, no interruption to the flow of your guest’s presentation. Just wonderful. Between Patreon channels, Nebula (lifetime subscriber), a few Odyssey channels, etc I’m enjoying the Internet again for over two years now!
thanks for answering my question. I am slowboyfuelpump. Glad to hear the financials have started working out.
