[Q&A+] Super Dangerous Solar Storms, Sampling Interstellar Objects, Alpha Cen vs Tau Ceti | Q&A 361
How close are we to another Carrington-style event and how bad will it be? Why do people keep calling interstellar comets alien spaceships? Why not shift our focus from Alpha Centauri to Tau Ceti? And it Q&A+, if we see the Universe in the past, do we have a model of how it looks right now?

Would a carrington event be devistating to solar panels on houses?
UGG I’m not sure if I’m leaving this on the right episode but with that being said… maybest or quite a few that you mentioned in regards to sci-fi movies are on my top. As well. I’m not really a Star Wars fan although I did catch up on all of them :) Most of the ones you listed are in my top 10. I mean I was born in 78 so even though two of the ones you listed were before I was born definitely in my top, but there are well… there is one more that was very very significant for me actually was the first movie I seen in the theatre and I think I was five or six.. pardon me, I was five because I had just started kindergarten and it was Et. ET is how I fell in love with extraterrestrials, which just made me fall in love with science and that was it!! After that I got my hand on every book and watched every movie that I could ( or that my mom and my brothers and sisters would let me lol ) that just help me get out of the crazy human world and into the scientific world, and I remember my first telescope, too I bought it myself I was 14 saved up my money from my first job. Yeah but yeah ET would be on my list but again I was born in 78 so I’m old, but not as old as you lol or I probably should say wise, because you Sir kick wises butt. Thanks
We already had a is carrington level event last year
My question for the next question show is, how many spacecraft does humanity have out there now, past low earth orbit. So the moon or farther, I guess.
A lot of yours are also on my list. Id add Contact for sure. Honestly, Gladiator held a relly special place in my heart for a long long time. Inspired me to hold myself to honor and do what was right, lol. Seems sill, but I still find myself saying "Nothing happens to anyone that he is not fitted by nature to bear".
Matrix, Interstellar, and both Bladerunner movies need to be added.
More influential sci-fi : Bladerunner and The Matrix
Avi is making lots of money, both in books and social media, from being an advocate for alien visitation. While he is a respected physicist, I put him in the same category as von Daniken and Sitchin.
My favourite sci-fi films include "Contact" with Jodie Foster, "Moon" with Sam Rockwell, some parts of "Ad Astra" with Brad Pitt (especially the Moon scenes) and an honourable mention for "Event Horizon" with Sam Neill for scaring the crap out of a younger me as a horror film with sci-fi trappings. My favourite film of all time is possibly "The Game" with Michael Douglas, not that any one asked, but I just find it unbelievably ridiculous plot but I'm with it all the way to the very end.
So stoked to get my question answered (about habitability of m-dwarf stars). And so happy with Fraser's cautious and science-driven answer. Thank you so much, Fraser. You've made my day!
new horizons is just chilling past Pluto.
