Really excellent interview. Loved the part about adding a new telescope to the EHT and I didn't realise just what goes on with the process of selecting a site and incorporating it alongside the existing EHT telescopes
I recently had the thought that placing cube sats with instrumentation to detect gravitational waves and other phenomena on/above astroids thru-out the astroid belt and using them as a LIGO type detector would be a meaningful way to gather stellar data and also observe target rich celestial bodies at the same time ..this interview has really accelerated my interest in diving deeper into this thought concept! So much to unpack here!
Having recently restored an old Yupiteru receiver I realize it can receive all the frequencies mentioned in this very good interview. Now if only it has a proper aerial, I don't think it could last long on the far side of the moon though!
