Vera Rubin's ONLINE // Huge LISA Update // Record-Breaking JWST Exoplanet
The first pictures from Rubin are finally here, construction begins on the LISA mission, Webb directly images a Saturn-sized exoplanet, and do pulsar have mountains? And in Space Bites+, a fast radio burst is coming from inside the Solar System.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Fraser so excited about anything like the VRT coming online. 😁
Hey Fraser, i have 2 questions: if the Vera Rubin telescope covers mostly the southern hemisphere, is there any equivalent planned for the northern one? You know, to cover all of the sky? and: when you block the sun with a coronograph, would you still detect a flare coming right at us or could it hide in that "blind spot"? thanks for your great work and inspiration again ;-) oh and a bonus question: another yt channel (you certainly know) just talked about the idea, proposed in a study, that time itself could be 3 dimensional... what's your thoughts on that and what would that mean for our science? what new kinds of telescopes or apperatures would be needed to confirm or disprove that?
I completely agree with your closing comments, the Universe is truly awe-inspiring and this is a valuable experience for human beings to have.
do you think it's likely that any of the most distant (oldest) galaxies that VR can see might fade over the "cosmic horizon" (at least in the wavelengths that VR can detect) during the telescope's operating lifetime?
Is pretty sure we are alone in the universe but also thinks a lot about if their are people on the planets around the stars we see explode and how ethical it makes watching it. Interesting sort of confliction in ones own mind in a way, lol.
Oh wow, this is the Patreon 👍
Vera Rubin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for considering my question Fraser.
Cannot believe we’ve finally can see first images of Vera Rubin! So excited!
Laser rangefindes for landing are cursed
Your excitement over this project has been infectious! Love seeing this observatory come to light. Looking forward to many cool astronomy gifs, Vera Rubin content creator :)
Just breathtaking!♥️
How do the images from Vera Rubin telescope compare to JWST? I know this is mainly a survey telescope, but I am curious how it compares to JWST.
Can't wait for LISA to be operational for a year. That means Anton will have the perfect reason to use "Happy Birthday, Lisa" from the Simpsons
👀
great episode! vera rubin is so exciting!
I can't wait to finally learn, if we do have another planet out there.
