Huge NASA Budget Cuts // 128 New Moons for Saturn // Visiting the YR4 Asteroid
Astronomers find 128 new moons for Saturn, four mini-Earths orbiting around Barnard’s Star, a new video from Blue Ghost 1, massive science budget cuts for NASA, and in our Patreon version, a bonus story about the return of the X-37b spaceplane.

Hey Fraser. Would you prefer that i watch here instead of on youtube? Won't a watch on youtube give you a tiny bit of revenue?
Way prefer that you watch here. Then you get all the content.
Hey Fraser. Do you think maybe this decade we will read the HEADLINE “SpaceX actually landed on Mars".
They cut NASA Budget to fund their pet projects. Follow the money.
Are we going to get a discussion on the definition of moon similar to the one on what constitutes a planet and what doesn't?
I'm glad your decision to overhaul the UT business model has paid off.
Have you seen Scott Manley's analysis of the IM2 "landing"? His analysis indicates that it wasn't so much "an unlucky landing spot" but rather that it was travelling horizontally much faster than vertically when it touched down, again.
Awesome video! :)
Is the best Ai no Ai? Is the best Musk no Musk? We should be told...
The new US funding model is apparently that, once the cuts are made, Republican elected officials can ask Trump to restore funds that affect their districts and/or the relevant corporations do something advantageous to Trump personally. (Democrats don't get their calls returned -- this is basically an updated version of the 1800's spoils system.) See Rep. Tom Cole of OK's recent success with OK's National Weather Center, Social Security Administration and other programs. If people want to get some of the NASA cuts reversed, they need to get the relevant Republican representatives to request that the funds be restored. There is a good chance that NASA programs that spend money in red states will be restored.
You need more than words, how about links to a trustworthy article? Not saying you are not partly right. I just don't see how DOGE recommendations get reversed unless its an error. The test is exactly if the Republicans can keep voting without massive pork sandwiches for lunch. DOGE is online, just point to a cut that got reversed. Then everyone can decide on the merits. If cuts don't happen now, we will just go bankrupt.
Saturn is the Moon Collector!🪐
I won't be upset about cuts to the NASA budget until I have more information. DOGE has found horrible things our government is spending our money on that we couldn't even imagine. I'm sure NASA isn't perfect. Elon Musk and Jared Isaacman are both science, technology, and exploration oriented people, and I believe they will do the right thing. Let's wait and see what they have in mind.
Thanks, Grok.
What keeps the rings on Saturn from forming into moons?
The Roshe Limit?
Surely there must have been a big old collision somewhere near or involving Saturn, that gave rise to its rings and bazillion moons. What do you think?
That's what they think, that all these little moonlets were from a smashed up moon.
Ah the naive belief in lasers strikes again, Intuitive Machines #2 can't measure the distance to the lunar surface; why didn't they use radar like everyone else? Then Fraser you mention using a laser to detect bio-signatures on Europa, I don't hold out much hope for that idea.

Is LISTER a Red Dwarf (BBC TV programme) reference?
I was wondering that after the fact.
