Fraser, This was recently published in Science. https://www.yahoo.com/news/world-warming-faster-expected-scientists-190042831.html It seems to say the albedo of the planet has increased because of the dearth of low level clouds. It goes on to say that the main reason for the lack of clouds is the regulations that limit the pollution cargo ships emit. Could this be considered an unintended consequence of the efforts to reduce global warming? Unintended consequences has always been a concern I have whenever we (the global we) try to cure or affect some problem. I know there have been various discussions over the years of seeding the atmosphere or building a sun shade or a variety of other projects that will affect the Earth. Each one comes with it's own set of unknowns that may result in worse results than we have now. What are your thoughts on unintended consequences?
Great interview! This is a really interesting time when we can get a sense of what is actually possible in exoplanet formation.
