The Drake equation is like a sacred cow, can't get rid of it. Plate tectonics are probably necessary for more advanced life (multicellular organisms) also for technological civilizations, can't make cars from plain rocks. I find the idea that life has a second chance after a red dwarf settles down to be dubious, surely that just means it dimly illuminates long dead worlds for trillions of years?
Thank you Dr. Joshua for answering my question, and thank you Fraser for asking my question.
