What DO we know about dark matter ? ( I know we have no idea what it is, lots we don't know). What does it mean that dark matter is "cold", how does that affect how it behaves ? Do the dark matter halos of our galaxy and Andromeda overlap, they are that big ? So even our globular clusters are orbiting inside the dark matter halo ? Could there be dark matter in the earth, and the sun ? Seems important, if dark matter is 85% of the total mass of the universe, all that visible stuff hardly matters. Thanks.
Not so much a topic as a format request. One of the things I miss from the WSH was having a panel of scientists geeking out about space/astronomy news. Given the logistics, you wouldn’t want a weekly video - maybe every other month or so. One round table (zoom table?) could be a group of exoplanet scientists. Another could be stellar researchers talking about Gaia’s impacts. Etc.
Water worlds or rusty worlds? Rust is hydrated iron oxide.
Fraser, any way you could interview or talk about the Artemis-enabled Stellar Imager (AeSI) with Dr. Gioia Rau?
Are you sure that Starliner made it back perfectly? There is information out there on the web that they had problems.
Thank you as always from NW England ✨️🌙
