Why Is Nobody Talking About Multi-Stage Interstellar Spaceships?
Interstellar travel might not be as impossible as most people think. Especially if we adopt the multi-stage approach that we already use in everyday rockets. How can we do it and what results we can expect? Find out in this interview.

That concern about designing missions to have maintainable funding is a great question. One possible factor that can lead to a solution: making humans immortal, in the sense of being ageless. This won't solve all the economic problems, but I don't see any other way how we could really get people to appreciate the value of missions that last centuries or millennia. Not the the agelessness, but generations of such ageless humans and developing the social structures that rewards such long-term existence.
I love this idea of solving human mortality so you have an easier time exploring the cosmos.
Fraser, perhaps you never knew about Project Daedalos, which was a study conducted between 1973 and 1978 by the British Interplanetary Society to design a plausible uncrewed interstellar probe. This had two stages.
