Deep Dive Into Primordial Black Holes With Jason Kristiano

What are primordial black holes and how are they different from all the other kinds of black holes out there? How could we possibly detect them and what would it mean for Cosmology? Can primordial black holes be a solution for dark matter? Finding out the answers in this interview.

I'm only 15 minutes into a very interesting presentation, but it requires concentration. The motion of the animations is very distracting and not really relevant to what Jason is saying. For me, the animations is reducing the value of this video as a learning opportunity. :-( I will watch the remainder now, but am considering hiding this window so I won't be distracted.

Hmm, as I was watching, I was thinking, "I don't think I could keep going without the animations." Pardon me, I need to clean someone's brain matter from my floor. Oh, it's mine. 🤪🤯👀

I'm not convinced by PBHs as even a partial contribution to dark matter. They would have to rival stars in numbers so their effects should be easily observed on stellar motions.

Agreed Ian, but it is an interesting approach to look at the dark matter mystery. Depends on how many PBH’s developed during the inflation period. I’d think an exercise using Jason’s equations via simulation to help visualize which can give potential evidence in favor of PBH and dark energy or simulation that can disprove the hypothesis.

Wow! He has to be one of the smartest Eight-Year-Olds I have ever seen!! 😲😲😲 Just Kidding! Get it? Ba-dum-pum! Amazing theories! Great video!

Follow Jason’s link to read his published papers on the subject. Has Jason written computer simulations to see if this idea is feasible.

Interesting hypothesis. primordial black holes could explain the existence of dark matter versus particles which have yet to be detected. PBH would be small enough to explain dark matter and how we observe them non uniform within various galaxies. The interview does a great job exploring this issue.
