Let's talk about version 1.0 and what's coming next...

So, as usual, I took the time to write down my thoughts on the latest version and the upcoming one.

About the current version (v1.0)

I was worried that Theresa wouldn’t be chosen in the poll. I know she isn’t a very popular character. Honestly, I don’t know what I would have done if no one had voted for her. For me, it’s important to tell her side of the story. At the same time, it wouldn’t have been very motivating to work on her path knowing that no one would want to play her part. Fortunately, it didn’t come to that.

This chapter dedicated to Theresa is the one that most closely resembles Angelica’s. At least for the beginning of their stories. They visit many of the same places and experience very similar events. The reason is simple: in both storylines, the main character stays with the knights. He doesn’t accompany either Melope or Saki. This means that, for the sake of consistency, I had to create similar events. There are a few scenes like this, which begin the same way as those in Angelica’s story but have a different ending. The reason is that Theresa, thanks to her relationship with the main character, gains confidence and therefore acts differently.

I really like Alyssa’s role in this chapter. Most of the time, I didn’t plan her intervention: Alyssa’s actions just pop up as I’m writing the script, almost as if she doesn’t care what I, as the developer, think. Which, now that I think about it, is totally in character for Alyssa.

The last part, with Yohren’s attack on headquarters… how should I put it…? There was a lot of blood? Yohren has always struck me as the most “evil” character. Unlike Swordsman and Blackstorm, who don’t hesitate to injure and kill to achieve their goals, Yohren kills simply because he enjoys it. That, and to break his opponent mentally. In any case, this is the first time several of the knights have died. And it’s not something the characters in the story take lightly. Honestly, they’ve been lucky that there haven’t been more casualties so far.

About the next version

The next chapter coming will be dedicated to Melope.

And for the first time, we’ll have a heroine’s complete story. With the release of the next chapter, Melope’s story will come to an end. I already mentioned this in the last poll, but the end of the game as a whole is slowly approaching.

As for Melope’s story, well, if you’ve played the first part of her story, you know what it’s about. You’ll see what happens now that Melope and the main character are standing up to the authorities and the knights. You’ll also see what stance Saki and Angelica take in this conflict. And… lots of other things? I can’t say too much, so you’ll just have to wait and see.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank Lilith and neck_romancer. Lilith for helping me with the Discord server, and neckromancer for helping me proofread the text. I probably don’t  thank them enough, but don’t get me wrong: it’s because I’m terrible at communicating—their help is invaluable.
