Pricing changes
Hello everyone.
In the DevUpdate following the release of Ch3.Finale, I brought up my consideration for increasing the prices on each tier. After private discussions with some patrons, I have decided to go forward with it. Thank you to those who messaged me and share their perspectives.
In recent months I found myself in the unfortunate position where despite steady growth on Patreon and the added boost from Steam, not only has the price fallen behind times, but also the abrupt increase in living cost actually made me working on CoMS more financially infeasible than ever before. While I could always work on it part-time, at this rate I would never be able to afford allocating any budget into the project for things like audio/music or translators, let alone any hardware upgrades or even replacements. There is just one more chapter left for Volume 1 and I want to be able to do more for it.
Because the prices were set 4 years ago, it no longer reflects the reality I have to live in anymore. I also originally set those price around Canadian dollar, even though I intended it to be US dollar. At the time, I didn't change it because back then it was still a lot of money and I believed it to be fair. That sadly is not the case anymore.
What's worse is even just months after I posted that DevUpdate, it got abruptly worse. The tariffs have gave local businesses the opportunity to further raise their own prices because it will always compare favourably to American imports.
And finally, you might recall I had a family emergency early this month. That was a reality check for me. I can't be thinking about my own living, but my family's as well. I need to be able to do more for my family, but I want to be able to do so by working on CoMS and finishing it. I don't want to go on hiatus, I just want to finish this project and move on to something even better.
Each tier will see an increase of roughly 25%. Because different regional pricing/currency exchange this will not be exact. If this is too much or if you have any concerns or questions, please contact me either through private messages on Patreon or Discord. This will not go into effect until June 1st. I want to hear from you guys because it is with your support I get to do this at all. I want to do right for both CoMS and you.
Thank you and sorry,
Gallant Trombe

It's all good, boss! Do what you have to do! To be honest, I'm kind of surprised you held this out for this long. It won't affect me, my support, and my pledge. Thank you for letting us know in advance! We love transparency. Everyone have a great one now โ๐ป๐!
No game is going to be made (at least not at a meaningful pace) if you can't make a living out of it. No one likes to pay more for the same product, but I think everyone can understand what you're doing so there's not much of a reason to complain.
It is understandable, no complaints on my part ๐
